Doesn't that article show everything about paper talk. It suggests that we contacted them whereas Steve suggests it was them calling us. I think I believe the latter! I trust Steve to do the right thing for the club but I'll be desperately disappointed if we end up back at that horrid place.

Why not?

Surely if the move is beneficial to the club then it should be done. Bateman has said in the Observer this week that the pitch at Beaconsfield is not only detrimental to how the team plays but also is in terms of attracting players.

If the financial terms are equal or better than at SYCOB then the move makes sense. The attendances would also receive a boost in my opinion.

Tom: you have a short memory. Remember, Windsor ripped us off last time. Also, attendnaces were higher as we were in a higher league with teams that brought a bit of support.

I remember clearly what happened last time, but in fairness to Windsor we agreed the terms.

My point is though, if the move is favorable financially for the club then why shouldn't we groundshare?

Agreed, but it would need to be on a pay per game basis and not a lump sum upfront. Also, the same or

less than we pay Beaconsfield. I know for a fact that Windsor are desperate for money, with Bedfont

leaving and a possible budget cut as well next season. Dave Mudge has been brown nosing us

for a few weeks now.

There’s lots of reasons I’d rather not go back to Stag Meadow.

Parking for one. It’s very easy, as we often do, to turn up at Beaconsfield as the teams are coming out, park easily and be in for the kick-off. I recall previously at Stag Meadow having to get to the ground ridiculously early to get parked anywhere near. With several kids, trying to get them ready early or amusing them for long periods before a game just isn’t an option.

Atmosphere. The noise generated under the covered end at SYCOB is superb. Any noise at SM just disappears into the fields.

Plus I’m not sure why W&E should benefit from our tenancy a second time after the attitude of lots of people towards us before.

Exactly Ian, it was obvious last time that we were not welocme there

Providing Beaconsfield make the necessary improvements to the pitch I think the benefits of staying at Beaconsfield far outweigh the benefits of going to Windsor.

Not least the fact that if we stay at Beaconsfield we will more than likely stay in the Midlands league and Steve Bateman will find it easier to retain existing players and recruit new ones.

Reading Rebel: you are starting to talk some sense at long last, must be the excitement of the election.

I can see pluses and minuses for both. As a ground I much prefer Holloways Park. More of a buzz to the place, especially when we are kicking towards the covered-end and the fans are singing. Makes a big difference at times and gives the place an atmosphere that Stag Meadow does not have. I also like the people at SYCOB. Plus parking is good unless your car windscreen gets broken by a ball :-(!

However, having said that the pitch was an absolute shocker. Not just at the end of the season, but also a couple of months in. There was a spate of about 5-6 games when all that needed doing was the pitch to be ‘rolled’ early on in the season and it was not. Shocking at times.

If we went back to Windsor I agree the attendances would go up and I think this time from what i’ve heard from Windsor sources the pitch would be very well looked after.

I’m convinced that at times towards the end of the season we dropped points at home because of the pitch. We like to pass the ball on the ground, whereas we had some opponents who just played hoofball and the pitch was not an issue for them. If you look at the end of the season two of our better performances have been on a pitch which was good (Burnham and Hitchin), no coincidence there if you ask me.

I also think were in danger of losing players, and not signing players due to the pitch as Bates says.

Personally I’d say if SYCOB give us reassurances and convince the powers that be that the pitch will be 100% fully looked after this season and througout and not be in the mess it was last then stay, otherwise i’d say we need to look at the Windsor option as that’s the better from a footballing perspective.

As everyone learnt from your last stay at Stag Meadow it doesnt matter how much you spend on the pitch its always going to take time to recover and with 2/3 or even more sides playing on it that cant really happen.

Plus if it snowed like last year i'm sure Windsor and Slough fans would muck together to clear snow unlike Bedfont Green who sent one bloke down, walked around the pitch without talking to anyone and then buggered off!!

Its not just the pitch its the fact that we were paying good money for old rope

You cannot cater for wear and tear and adverse weather conditions but Beaconsfield's pitch was awful from day 1 and as Chris said, to get rid of the bumpiness all it needed was to be rolled but nothing ever happened.

I'm sure SB will want assurances that the quality of players that he signs for next season will have a decent surface to play on and not a bumpy cabbage patch.

From my point of view , Beaconsfield is much more disabled friendly. I can get around all the ground on my wheelchair,

Its even got a proper disabled loo too. Windsor has steps everywhere which means I cant get around most of the ground ,

there was no disabled loo and that loo under the stand was disgusting for the able bodied let alone any disabled.

Parking was terrible-get there early or face a long walk-something I cant do anyway...

Only two points in Windsors favour, in my opinion, they did a mean cheese burger, sorry sycob, and its a lot nearer home for me...

My vote is for Beaconsfield...

disabled wheel it better

Steve Easterbrook would be making a serious mistake of moving to Windsor.

How many times did the floodlights fail at Windsor - even this season just gone they were reliant on a generator - SYCOB's have only gone down once and that was due to the whole of Beaconsfield having a power cut.

How much cover is behind the goals - good covered terraceing at one end at SYCOB, none at either end of Stag meadow - I did offer to contribute to covering at Windsor and was not taken up on my offer!

SYCOB has pleanty of parking and is right next to the motorway junction, Windsors car park is full of dog walkers or you have to park away from the ground and risk your life crossing the road.

The bar at windsor is in an old hut - Beaconsfield have a purpose built bar.

The changing rooms are modern and have a proper segrigated entrance to the pitch at Holloways park - Stag meadow has more huts leading out over the rocks to the pitch.

As for the the welcome at Beaconsfield it is always warm and open - Windsor are only after cash with this offer.

The answer is easy - stay at Holloways park.
