In fairness he did a good job of trying to keep us up, just could not take us where we wanted to be the next season.

I think he'll do OK there with his local contacts. Probably be able to get a few old Burnham/Slough/Flackwell/Marlow players to play for him down there who could play at a higher level.

Irrespective of anything I wish Sweets the best of luck. He is a thoroughly decent man who I think was harshly treated by some Rebels supporters. I'd love to see him succeed at Holyport.

yes

best of luck sweets at holyport

Good luck to him. Yes, he was found wanting as manager of Slough and this led to some criticism, but he's a nice bloke with a lot of local coaching (and managerial) experience and I'm sure he'll do fine.

He was a nice bloke as stated above and did a good job at Slough in fairness, turned us from hopeless into average and we could challenge anyone in the league on our day, truro, windsor etc.

However as also stated he was not the man to get us up but think he can do well at Holyport

in fairness he never really had the club stability that Steve Bateman now has. Sweets did a better job than what we had been going through at that point at least. Best of luck to him. I see no point of being angry at the guy he did what he could under the circumstances

Not sure about the 'stability' part as regards to the playing side. Steve Bateman has only been at Slough for a season and a bit and I wouldn't mind betting he'll want to bring in at least half a dozen new faces and possibly have to construct a new team if we are put in the South and West league.
