STAG MEADOW

Recommended Posts

Given the choice, I'd actually go back to Windsor. SYCOB has a nice bar and the covered bit behind the goal, but the main stand is small and the rest of the ground is not as good as Windsor in my opinion.

A big thing for me is that you can only easily get to SYCOB by car. Yes it's close to the motorway, but Stag Meadow is at least near to civilisation and is walkable from the town centre. Crowds have been down this season despite us doing well, and I reckon it's because we're at Beaconsfield, nice as they've been to us.

A tough choice, but like the rest of you, I don't mind where we go as long as it makes sense financially and the pitch copes.

I guess you would have to look at going up next season as well, is BSYCOB's ground graded to go up? It has got to a realistic aim to be in the premier next season and if no new ground is forthcoming would you not want to be in a ground guaranteed to be accepted?

you would also get locals come down for a match if they couldn't make the Windsor away game, you may laugh at on eor two fans turning up but they all make the difference and from what i remember a few slough fans came to Windsor games and everyone got on quite pleaseantly.

From a Windsor point of view it would be well received, but whatever you do and wherever you end up, good luck for next season :-)

Also, don't forget we have been told that Beaconsfield are going to spend 30k on improving the pitch for next season.

If thats true they are spending 30K on improvements and taking in to account its a nicer bar and friendlier people and the players facilities are more modern and most important Steve the Chairman is happy with Beaconsfields conditions I think we should stay put until the new ground is ready. By the way what are they spending 30K on?

Very dubious if they will spend that amount on the pitch.

Look at the amount Windsor spent on theirs and it has taken a good couple of seasons to settle down.

Also not really worth the money if they are going to continue with some of the events they have at the moment, like the car show which will just churn the pitch up. On top of that they need someone to maintain the pitch which seemed pretty non-existent last season otherwise will just end up like last season and won't be ready in time with bald patches everywhere!

I for one would NOT want to go back to Stag Meadow.

Having been to one game there towards the end of this season, the pitch at that game was in a worse condition than at Beaconsfield, with Windsor finding it very hard to control the ball against an extremely poor side.

Further to this, the toilet facilities ae antiquated (outside) and smaller (back to longer queues), and the whole area down to the clubhouse is extremely dangerous for wheelchair users, along with a very large lack of disabled facilites, with a large amount of work to be done to bring it up to current requirements. Also the changing rooms, and other facilities are a lot better at Beaconsfied as well.

This season at Beaconsfield has seen a greater number of peole using the club house before and after te matches, and a lot of people chanting under the large covered area.

OK, Beaconsfield's ground is further out for some people, but I have enjoyed our stay there a lot more than when travelling over the Thames.

Also having a large enough parking area has been good this season.

One further thing on travel..the Eton Relief Road is going to have a years worth of constuction work, starting in June, for the Olympics. That wil make it long and arduous task in getting there and back

If I remember correctly, someone said on this thread earlier that we have a lot more hands on fans than Bedfont. Read into that what you want.

For me, I hope we stay at Beaconsfield

As it was me who said it i was only saying that as a compliment, hmmm didn't some slough fans offer sycob some help when there was severe snow on the pitch.

As you don't take compliments or best wishes well on your forum i won't give them.

One further thing I've found out since my previous post is that the Stag & Hounds pub over the road hs closed down, to become a kids nursury.

So all the people who didn't like going into the clubhouse before and after the match won't have a pub to go into over the road (and that was quite a lot of people) as the clubhouse was never as full as Beaconsfield's has been nsince we moved there.
