Efc - Why do you post about Tokyngton Manor all the time though, which SSML Club do you follow out of interest

You were perfectly happy to talk about Hoddesdon Town on this Holmer Green thread Rhodes.

Should also mention the efforts of Hadley, newly promoted from Division 2 last season they deserve their runners up spot as they were always there or thereabouts through out the entire season, similar I guess to Kings Langley of last season who unfortunately due to their ground didn't get the promotion to the Prem.

Ref Off Ref - Well that is true up to a point however it was only when Hadley acquired a player called Stuart Farrell just before the transfer deadline that cemented their promotion to the heady heights of the Premier Division, you could say he was the icing on the cake for them otherwise I think London Colney would have secured second spot

Do we know how far Holmer Green are with their work to comply with Step 5 criteria, I'm sure Bill Scholes has offered them a helping hand

Ref Off Ref - Holmer Green will be the first to admit that the pitch at the Viking Sports Ground was perfectly playable on Monday 19 April, two days before London Colney made such a song and dance about it which ultimately and ironically cost them promotion

Peter P Pederson - Did you visit the Viking Sports Ground last season, like I said Holmer Green had no problem whatsoever with the pitch on 19 April and neither did experienced Referee David Clement and his trusted Assistants on the night Mike Heavey and Alex Cobb

I most certainly did! The pitch is too narrow, there were substanstial cracks and holes, the grass was far too long and the whole place has a distict feeling of decay. I know the pitch very well when it was Viking Sports and the groundsman ( Mr Bartlett) used to look after Yeadings' pitch as well as that one makiing it one of the best playing surfaces around.

Peter P Pederson - You state that the grass was far too long when you visited, thanks for confirming that grass is in plentiful supply. Admitedly there were one or two cracks in the playing surface towards the end of the campaign due to our so called landlords Bedfont Green never watering the hallowed turf however there certainly weren't any holes

Had there been any holes then maybe Cliff would've disappeared down one of them:doh:
