Personally I'd like to see Hoddy and Colney in the Prem... as many local games as possible!

 

I agree NF, the only thing i don't like about Holmer Green is that it is so far away from my house!!!!!! Apart from that if they have won the league and have the ground ready good luck to them...

 

Having Hoddy & Colney back would mean my wife won't moan about how much petrol i use when driving her car!!!!! Could mean more lifts from MonkeyMonkey for me.

 

But really every club knows what level the ground needs to be at to play in the prem so really it should not be an issue at this time of year cause all the work should have been done by all clubs. It is not really fair on the clubs that have found the money or the people willing to give up their free time to get the work done.

and I hear that Biggleswade United could be dropping out of the SSMFL and going into the Beds County League due to financial reasons.

I also heard this on the grapevine but was asked to keep it under wraps, they would be a big loss to the SSML

My guess is more than two teams will be promoted from division one to the Premier Division. Welwyn are down (irrelevent of ground issues), Brimsdown Rovers (folding) and I hear that Biggleswade United could be dropping out of the SSMFL and going into the Beds County League due to financial reasons. Step 4 clubs Aylesbury United and Barton Rovers may get a reprieve due to step 4 ground grading issues and I would imagine the SSMFL committee would want to keep the Prem Div at 22 clubs. So don't expect any quick decisions and my guess is that clubs like London Colney and Hoddesdon Town may just get Prem Div football next season.

 

There's also AFC Hayes (Brook House that was), in a relegation position in the other Zamaretto Division. They were previously an SSML club prior to promotion.

Colney and Hoddesdon dont deserve to go up, the league should try their best to stop the undeserving clubs going up in all league's, Hoddy's facilities are average and their pitch was a cowfield.

Hoddesdons pitch is a cowfield due to a ref not calling the kings langley game off during a very bad wet and rainy night, go on youtube and type Hoddy vs Kings Langley and you will see thecoldends video footage of the game and see why the pitch ended up in the state it did!! And i take it you didnt like it there banksy as its 1 of the 3 games you lost during the season!!

i agree with you it is awful but if you watch the footage you will see that playin in that monsoon surely helped alot towards what it is now!! But anyway congrats on the title take nothin away from that you deserved it!!

So Holmer Green deservedley win the league, work hard to get their ground up to scratch, players not getting paid but willing to muck in for the clubs cause, just to learn that coz the League want 22 clubs in the Prem next season Colney and Hoddie may get promoted.....it makes a mockery of hard work put in by individuals over the entire season, the endless miles spent midweek up and down the motorway, the fact you have worked your socks off to become Champions and be promoted and then to join forces.....with the team who came 4th?.

And what someone said earlier, that is how Hatfield got promoted last season, at the expense of Kings Langley's ground not being up to scratch.

Football used to be top 2 up and bottom 2 down regardless, thats when it was fun.
