Dont need to repeat what people have said, we were rubbish. Im gutted cos i don't want another season at this level, but the club have made massive strides not just on the pitch, but behind the scenes, and with such fantastic support and a ground in Slough, i've no doubt we will rise up the leagues again. Going to send a bribe now to the FA so we they can move us to the Ryman South!

Couldn't face coming on here til today - was utterly gutted all the way through yesterday evening.

I agree that it's a case of a bridge too far - we looked knackered and all the heart in the world wouldn't have helped our lads yesterday. To concede so early just destroyed any optimism we may have had in the first half.

The second half we started much brighter, and there were two gilt edged opportunities which, had we buried even one of them, could have changed the game, but sadly it wasn't to be.

This is still a massive achievement on where we were last season, and I really hope the players and management recognise that, certainly most of the fans do. Looking forward to Friday's presentation night now!

p.s. also really liked the shirts.

Can't say much more than has already been said.

For some reason we were just not at the game, and the best team won. That first goal knocked the stuffing out of us and we never recovered

But, what a fantastic season, for all it's ups and downs.

I would like to that Steve, his team and all the players for getting us into the play-off final.

Also, to add to a couple of peoples comments already. I loved the kit, and hope it is chosen for next season.

Well now the dust has settled and the head now rules perhaps a few truths, no we were not ready for promotion despite the dream,

Not sure I agree. It's much harder to gain promotion than it is to stay up, especially with the format of one up and the playoff lottery. I think this squad with no additions could hold its own in the Southern Prem. Ok, we wouldn't win it or probably finish top half but I don't believe we'd get relegated either.

I've been quite critical at times of Steve Bateman this season but only because we'd let ourselves down in certain games which I think he's said himself. Now it's all over we can look back at getting to the playoff final which overall, despite the ups (Hitchin etc.) and downs (Atherstone etc) is a fantastic achievement. I'm especially pleased for Steve Easterbrook who has given us much needed stability.

Roll on next season.

2 years ago we were trudging away from Fleet, feeling sorry for ourselves and expecting to be playing in the Hellenic football league next season.

Just over a year ago Bateman took charge of a shambles of a club still in serious relegation trouble, and took them to within 90 minutes of promotion.

What the management has acheived in a year is nothing short of exceptional. Yes, they didn't get everything right all of the time and yes, there were some pretty dire performances along the way, but seeing as how the team quite clearly isn't the finished article yet, to reach the play-off final is incredible.

I have no doubt that next year, we will come back stronger (hopefully as the finished article), and make the play-offs much more comfortably or even mount a serious title challange.

Totally agree with all that's been said.

The goal after ninety seconds killed the game really. Our team and supporters never really could get going after that.

We desperately needed an early goal in the second half and had we taken one of those early chances it might have been different. But Chesham outplayed us four times this season so you have to say it is fair enough that they go up.

I hope we manage to retain the vast majority of that squad and with a couple of additions we should have a good chance next year.

Despite the result it was a good night in the Herschel and I think we all successfully drowned our sorrows and reflected on a tremondous season.

Ditto to most above.

Dean thanks for the hug (two in a week may I add!), this has definately been our best season for a long time so thanks to you and all the players.

Paul, nice one little Alfies face when you gave him the captains arm band was lovely.

Also nice to see Steve Daley and Roy Gumbs at the game.

As a Windsor fan watching this site I was surprised how by many of you were confident you would do well this season when it started (considering the season before) but boy did your players perform. To get so close you could taste promotion and not get it is a killer, I know, I went through it last season, and the thought of playing at his level again is also painful. But if you hold onto the squad you have you can push for the title, and that would be so much sweeter.

Godo luck for next season people!!!

What no PM Staines im disappointed. Might see you at stag meadow next season then, people on here mentioned the attendances, the truth is your crowds fell at sycob even when you have had a good season, sycobs pitch was the laughing stock of the league, especially among visitors. As most of you seemed to think you were in the stronger league last year if you are moved over you can win the south and west next year like us..

So SR if you do come to windsor will you be buying a season ticket or will you have control over your own money :applaus:
