Playoffs update

Slough losing to Chesham, 3-0 - good crowd there, 1115 according to the NLN <edit> and that looks like game over - went to 4-0 as I write.

Bridgwater went 1-0 up, 2-1 down and are currently beating Cirencester 3-2... no calling that just yet!

A bloody joke, thats what i call it

Nope - it was an absolutely cracking match. Bridgy went back to 2-2 on 68 (huge handball then offside shouts - pfft!) and Ciren put on another forward (unbelievable, went to 334) and Bridgy hardly ever had the ball again. 3-3 on 80 mins and almost inevitably, 3-4 on 112 mins. Massive save by Bath on 115 mins and then that was it.

Bridgy crowd, or about 2-300 of them. waited patiently while Ciren celebrated then solidly clapped them off - very much appreciated touch, that. Extereme scooping in the clubhouse after that; just got back.

I don't like playoffs either but have to say, now it has gone our way twice in games we were not expected to win, there is an exquisite (painful?) pleasure in doing it that way :smashfreakb:

Clearly, finishing in a last gasp Fifth slot must be the key

Well done Cirencester - a very unexpected promotion for most observers - and all on a wages bill that, IIRC from your post a few weeks back, is a fraction of ours!

The win against us really set you on your way - you looked a very solid team that day but, to be fair, some way off the level of Totton and Bridgwater!

Hope we're in the same League next season as your presence on this forum has been very welcome. Fear we might be battling together at the other end of the table though....

That's the downside, of course... I remember watching us being swept aside by Bashley and AFC Wimbledon a couple of years back, and thinking "we're really better off in this division"... now we need to beat them. (well, except AFCW have climbed a couple more divisions since.)

Still, looking at our first-choice team I don't think we should worry too much. Skills aplenty and much pace, we're good.
