BLACKMAN GONE!

Not surpised that Haverson and Morris have been released - their first team opportunities will always be limited at this level but good luck to them with their new clubs. Bit surprised we have let our leading goalscorer go though. For all his faults LLoyds goals per game ratio is not too shabby and you cannot deny he was a trier - unless we get Hockton back can't see where our goals will come from next season - Pinnock seems well past his best these days and I don't think Huggins should/will be retained.

Although grateful for Lloyd's goals I'm quite happy with the decision to let him move on. I think we can do better. He didn't have the work rate. If you're lacking work rate you better make up for it in outright skill, and he didn't do that either. Seemed all too eager to go to ground, often when there was little or no contact, and actually ended up wasting an attacking move. Just trying to balance out the views here after reading a lot of positive stuff about Lloyd after his goal on Saturday.

I think there are strikers out there that can offer us more and clearly Iain does too.

Well i shall miss him. I think compared to some of the players we've had he's put in a good show. I think his work rate is good. Yes he does fall over a lot, but that perhaps comes from the school of Heskey.

Good luck to him, some people gave him grief, but i believe the majority of fans enjoyed watching him on the pitch

I too will miss him, am surprised his work rate is mentioned as I always thought that was excellent. Also when on the bench you could always see him on his feet shouting encouragement to the team. Maybe at the end of the day it comes down to wages, who knows.

However good luck Lloyd wherever you end up and hopefully we will see you at Harstsdown Park again playing against us (as long as you don't score) ;)

Also agree about his good work rate. Often things didn't come off for him, but he always gave it a go. I wonder if his body language sometimes was interpretted as not working for the team? And he never threw his toys out of the pram when Iain dropped him to the bench. And as for going down too easy, he had nothing on Joe Healy!

unlike some, who when dropped to the subs bench just sit there arms folded throughout the 90 mins Lloyd was on the touchline encouraging the guys on the pitch and getting more animated then some managers that I have seen (not ours) this season. Yes will miss him for his work on the pitch and off it!

The difference with Healy was that he was clever and more often than not actually won the free-kicks, unlike Blackman. As much as I felt the criticism he received was unjust, there's no doubting he went over far too easily. But, please, no Hockton - well past his sell-by date. There are players out there other than those who have played for us in the past. Plenty of decent strikers out there to choose between,
