Incidentally Martin, I did a straw poll in the office this morning about our Chris Seeby song to the tune of Let's Talk About Sex and we won hands down over the Dontcha (Pussycat Dolls) one...

so, come Saturday, I expect everyone to sing along to

Let's talk about Chris See-by

Let's talk about all the corners, every clearance that we'll see

Gutted not to have been there, as was out for meal with friends. Waiting for the text updates was nerve wracking to say the least. Come ten to ten, the restauarant was somewhat bemused by a loud shout of YES!!!! coming from my table. Helping out this weekend at a world record attempt at 48 hours of football, but have told them will not be there sat afternoon. Doing an organisational shift from 11 fri night to 7 sat morning, few hours kip, then on to Chesham. BRING IT ON!

A fantastic night to be a Rebel. Great noisy support, uplifting performance and fantastic result.

I'm sure I'm not the only person though who thinks there were more than 561 people in attendance. Only a couple of weeks ago Hitchin had 562 when they hosted SYCOB. By their own recognition from the report on the Hitchin site there we took 'a couple of hundred noisy fans' last night.

Even taking into consideration that Hitchin put on a Community Day for the SYCOB game, are we really to believe that the home side had 350-odd supporters at the game last night?

That minor moan aside, great evening. More of the same on Saturday please.

Surprised no one has mentioned the stonewall penalty denied to chesham in the last minute where the referee was out of position.

Is that a premonition for the game on Saturday Windsorian ? cheesy%20(2).gif

I think - from hearing a few Hitchin fans on the way out - the penalty could arguably have been awarded, if the striker in question hadn't spent the first 89 mins swan diving at every opportunity.

The story of the boy who cried wolf comes to mind.

Congratulations guys, it was a painful night for us Yellows, we just didn't turn up on the night and I have to hand it to your boys they played with hearts of lions.

With reference to our striker crying wolf for 89 minutes and then diving he didn't come on until half way through the second half so I'm not sure who you were looking at, but he does have a tendency to back into defenders and cause mischief :smashfreakb: But from where we stood it was a clear penalty, the keeper never got near the ball.

Good luck for Saturday, Chesham are our bogey club who beat us twice in the league, you have a tough day ahead.

Regards

A weary Canary.

Well done the Slough lads, heroes all.

After four difficult years including times when we looked like going under, the last two games have been a wonder. The determination to win is there and we can do it!

Great to see supporters wish their rivals well when beaten. Reminds me of some great cup ties in the 70s. The 4-0 win over Tooting springs to mind when we were bottom of the table. Must have hurt their supporters but they still wished us well. Good luck Hitchin for next season.

Feels like I'm in dreamland!

UP THE REBELS!
