Like to second that matt. Been a long time coming, and gutted i missed on plenty of games this season.

Although the recent problems around the club, we are now in the Southern Premier (or Ryman) and hopefully Slough can go up too so we can get the derby back.

A massive well done to everyone at the club over the past few weeks to push on and get the win tonight that crowned W&EFC champions! It's been a good old race with Totton the past fwe weeks and credit must also go to them for the way they came back in to the title race

Another hard fought, if inelegant, win against a VTFC team that was pretty much their 2nd 11 but battled hard and were a credit to their club.

They had a 16, 17 and 18 year old in the team but were very composed throughout and should have a decent team next season, whichever league they end up in.

A most enjoyable night for us WEFC fans but I suppose one must spare a thought for Totton who have been pretty hard done by in the circumstances.

I'll post some jerky footage of the goal that sealed it tomorrow!

Edit: I should say later today....

VT did indeed have a changed team - the three young lads played not bad at all, and they were all very quick indeed. But, the defence bar the centre half and three of the midifeld have all been featuring regularly this season. Did not actually get a really threatening shot on target, beyond the long distance effort that took an awkward 'kick' up off the turf on about 20 mins. And they conceded far too many free kicks. Kept the pressure off youse and on to them.

No attacks of consequence second half - W&E defended very well indeed, in a match where there was much more anxiety than necessary. Glad youse won it - over the season, a deserved reward. Enjoy!

A great night for everyone at Windsor & Eton! Its been a great season with all the usual highs and lows. Official attendence last night 405 but i think nearer 500 considering the amount of people who got in unaccounted for mostly via the back gates! Shouldn't these be locked on match days? Wouldn't it be nice to see attendences like this every week instead of people turning up for 1 game a season! I hope Totton go up in play offs, nothing against the other 3 but having finished so far above the others they surely deserve it. Like most other fans of the club i'm so looking forward to next season at the higher level. Well done to Keith Scott, Jim Melvin, all the players and everyone else at the club!

Congratulations, at the end of the day you deserve it as you scored more points !!

Hopefull and to be honest, confident we will join you next season. As i posted before, it will be an absolute travesty of justice if the top two did not go up.

You never know in the play off's but the way we have finished the season and no injuries I find it hard to see us being beaten at home - and I am not normally very confident. Saw both of our recent games against Ciren & B'water and won both comfortably, would also be happy to get VT in the final.

Well done see you next year !!

Congratulations from Canada

To all playing staff and all those behind the scenes a very big "WELL DONE"

To those fans who gave up their time in painting , working on the pitch to make games possible and all the support you have your reward!

It was a bit nerve racking at the end particularly watching from so far away. With the web site not reporting what was happening I almost wore out my Google tring to find out results etc.

Great News

Mike

Thanks for that and i really hope you make it, hitchin got 100 points and are tonight out of the play offs, for what its worth i think you are better equipped to win than us tbh i wouldn't of fancied our chances if it was us, i just hope your right and you carry your incredible form on for two more matches, if you had won the league you would have more than deserved it considering all that ground you had to make with the games in hand, and you have every right to feel aggrieved with it being made easier for us with the VT game.

Best of luck.

Congrats to all the people who work hard behind the scenes they deserve it the most. They may not even know who they are but the fans do!

I hope Totton go up as i've yet to see a better side than them when they played at Stag Meadow. I really really hope Cirencester dont, no disrespect to the fans who donated money for Gavin Smith!

What, a couple of weeks away and we've played something like 6 games and won the league? WTF is going on here??

Seriously, my heartfelt absolute congratulations to the players - how much can it have hurt to lose three of the automatic names on the team sheet every week, and then everyone else steps up and shows the meaning the TEAM in "team game". You don't often see that at EPL level so it's special when it happens at ours!

I think and expect we will keep most or all players next season... at the very least, they're worthy of trial at the next level and IMO they're good enough to stay there. we can definitely raise our game, I've seen it before. Sure, we may change a few players as time passes but I think the squad we have deserve and merit loyalty.

And, of course, we have to say our manager and coaching staff have proven their point... kept a pretty stable team, improved them, got them playing together and as more than the sum of their parts, and we have the result on a shield.

Of course we keep the faith. It's what we do - what fans are.

If only a game or three could have been saved for when I wasn't overseas. But hey, I'll take the result.:signthankspin:

ps anyone have any idea what league we're being promoted into? I know I got criticised for mentioning it before but that local derby against Slough isn't ruled out yet...
