Edgware Town FC BACK in the SSMFL next season!

Recommended Posts

I am very happy to announce that Edgware Town will be back playing football next season, 2010/11

Whilst I can't go into too many details, suffice to say the club will be looking at step 7 of the SSMFL with a possible groundshare at St Albans FC in the short term.

A consortium made up of South Americans will introduce talented South American footballers to the English game via Edgware Town.

Check out where Edgware will be getting its players from

Work is also being done trying to secure the long term future of the club back at the White Lion Ground, however the owners of the ground appear to be elusive to track down.

It's all VERY exciting!!!!

Hi Gavin, excellent detective work. Having just read through the link you've given us, two names quickly rang a bell.

And yes, Michael Biggs is the son of Great Train Robber Ronnie, and Carlos Alberto Torres is the captain of 1970 World Cup Winners, Brazil.

Hold on to your horses and batten down the hatches.....I think this could be an interesting thread.

It appears that I misunderstood the information that was given to me, and that in actual fact it won't be Edgware Town who will be groundsharing with ST Albans City FC.

Also, it's not certain that the club are going to be playing next season, though work is continuing to secure a place in the SSMFL for next season.

Sorry to mislead anyone, but as I said the information I was given mislead myslef.

St Albans reserves applied to join south Midlands league, see link below, not sure who or was ground sharing with St Albans and how it now affects them,

Someone needs to get Edgware Town back up and running. Its a disgrace what happened to that club, with all its fine history.

Good luck to whoever is behind them. I Heard that Edgware were going to be playing at Belstone possibly in the Herts County League. They were a proper old school club though, so it will be good to have them back. We might see a bit more of Mr Smiles as well.

Hello there Samuel !

Yes and I wonder whether Gavin will be cordially invited to get involved in the new set up as we all know his middle name is Edgware Town

I see that Gavin has got them all going on another's Forum, good luck to him, if every Non League Club had a Gavin onboard the grass roots game would be in a much better place:

Gavin Shaw used to do his blog on Egdware and he was pretty passionate about the club/team etc.

Having rarely come across Edgware fans online I'd be surpised if this wasn't him.

It's too clever for him!

Great, great club with history be brilliant if they get White Lion back too. Would they have to start in the dreaded div 2? Prob back to back promotions like Berko anyway
