Has been talk on other post about next season squad what players will go who to keep whatever league we are in would try to keep saunders, lacy, stubbs, young, turner has anyone got any views

Agree with your list so far and maybe keep a couple more... I think some of us on here are alittle shell shocked as to the position we are in at the moment but I and a majority of the followers of MFC are hanging on for the last thread of hope as to which league we will be playing in. Therefore I would suggest our main aim would be to get a proven goalscorer and maybe someone to back dan young up - other than that with this team Im sure (Ryman South wont pose many problems) I hope. :)

Good backbone for a revised squad, I'd look to add Sam Groombridge and Sam Cliff also as 'players for the next five years'. As to the suggestion of Sam Jones - no (if only he were half as good as he thinks he is).

Will Rob Haworth be surplus to requirements for Dartford in BSS? Exactly the type of player we have missed for the past two seasons and will score plenty in Ryman South. I would like to see all those mentioned retained but doubt the playing budget will stretch that far so would expect a few more youngsters trying to make the step up from the reserves to feature. If we can keep Turner, Lacey, Cooper, Stubbs and Saunders we can build a team around them.

turner, young, cooper, stubbs, osbourne, saunders, barnes, pinnock, jones - all those for sure. Definitely need another striker haworth would work for me. Copmments on other threads talk about rebuilding. Not Needed IMO with our youngsters continuing to develop this side will win promotion from ryman south. Lets hope the playing budget will be there and the missing supporters will come back as we have a successful season. we need 400 miimum. After several disappointing seasons we can finally turn a very big corner.

Keep most of the squad, but we need a good target man and possibly two fulbacks, as for local players from our reserves No, the best of Thanet have tried and failed to make an impression with this club, where are they now, hardly setting the world alight.

I have been really disappointed with Sam Jones over the matches I have seen this season. For all his fancy footwork and little runs he rarely seems to be able to deliver a good ball. Just when you want players to fight for survival he appears to pull out of every tackle that comes his way, as if he's about to break his leg. I don't know how many times he did it again on Saturday.

A lot, Steve - only saw him make one really good tackle.

Totally disagree think Morris proved himself last season hasn't really had a chance this yea. And Robinson proves himself up until the suspension! If local players and young players arnt what we want to build up on for future players why do we bother having an youh section and reserves?

Whilst he faded badly in the second half on saturday-i thought Jones was surprisingly impressive in the first half.

I read alot about him keeping the ball too long-not sure i agree.

Could it be that he has to do trhat as no other players are good/intelligent enough to find space for him to release the ball to them ?

Spot on michael. Granted, Jones didn't have his best game on Saturday (but then neither did most of the team), he is still a class act at this level. If we had more movement from others around him (and in particular more mobile forwards), we would see a much better side to him. Ability-wise, he's one of the best players we have.

Re: an earlier comment about young players, Porka's pretty much spot on. Cliff is certainly one to keep hold of, but there's not much else (would like to see more of Morris, though). Robinson's a liability these days.
