Yeah, forgot about Grays. And I guess Thurrock might give them a run for their money as well. Nah, I don't think Canvey can be so confident this year. And certainly not after a 7-0 drubbing. Doesn't matter who the opposition is, a decent team does NOT get whalloped in such a manner. Mid table obscurity, I reckon.

Ha! Was this invasion planned or are you all the same person?

 

 

Lets see:

Canvey Island - Ryman Premier League.

Gillingham - Football League Division 1.

 

Scoreline: 7 - 0.

 

The scoreline didn't exactly reflect the game. I'm sure Gillingham fans will admit that we had our moments in each half. Yes we were whipped by the Pros, but unlike Southend on Saturday we didn't play piss-poor for an entire 45 minutes! I think 4-2 would've been a more acceptable scoreline. It wasn't our strongest line-up, we have another friendly tomorrow night so some players were rested.

 

As for past seasons...that's exactly what they are past seasons. Southend fans know all about living in the past. We are a team going forward and up, in fact most Essex teams are on the up and sooner or later Southend will find themselves playing League games against a few of us!!!

 

Now enough of this childs-play we'll see how you boys fair against Colchester on Saturday...

 

Oh and next time you plan to invade our forum, get some friends to help you!!

Keep it up lads - keep these Southend Twits posting on this forum, their postings, although very childish, will add to this being one of the most favoured forums around. We must forgive them, for they have a deficiency that none of the Canvey supporters will ever experience it is called lack of brain cells. It is a common ailment, always associated with constant visits to Roots Hall and consistantly poor seasonal performances, not only in their private life but also in the so called football team that they have the misfortune to follow. <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Still like Merv said over three seasons ago...Everyone is interested in Canvey Island FC, they just can't leave us alone. Even the Football League, soon to be Conference Clubs like to drop in for a visit once in a while...

Phil, have a care will ya. The League is a different prospect than the Ryman Premier football. You beat 'em and that is a fair result but the game was a one off. They have to play in that league week in and week out, Canvey don't. You are compairing apples to pears if ya wanna quote league positions.

Hmmm, yes. I'd rather finish consistently second-best in the Isthmian League than a position in the Football League, two levels above you. Yes, I can see where you're coming from, pikey. What a splendid point.
