I've used the old keyboard excuse myself once or twice! Must have been a good drop of ale!

We struggled to break them down for over an hour but must not forget we had some decent chances which normally we might have converted, bit of nerves yes. Looking at Abingdons home record you might fancy them to nick at least a point against afc totton on tuesday, if they do we could take advantage and actually win the league at bracknell which will be preferable as im sure there will be those who will say we havent won it fairly if we need something from the VT game.

Will upload some clips today, got the first goal but unfortunately was changing the camera batteries when the second went in (note to Chenns, please leave 3 mins before getting another goal) cool.gif

Agreed about the subs, did hear a few people being critical suggesting they didn't know what they were doing but as usual was spot on, i don't understand why NJ doesn't start but perhaps there is a good reason for that, he certainly can change a game when coming on and looks dangerous whenever he has the ball.

My main point in the O/Post as that having scored we suddenly looked like the team that had carried all before it for most of the season - looking likely to score with every attack.

The shackles came off and it was wonderful to behold!!

Okay, I'm stretching it a bit there, but it certainly gave ME confidence for the rest of the season....

In reality it was very similar to how we played when we were on our good run, we would hold teams unitl half time as if we were gauging their weaknesses and in the second half, or maybe ofter 60 mins, we would start to exploit the gaps and frailties.

against Abingdon we looked comfortable but lacked penetration, we went ot 3 up front and they just couldn't cope.

as for Nathan Jack, he has clearly struggled when starting with 2 up front, but on the left of a 3 up front formation looks very dangerous and really made a difference, top marks for effort and performance after a few lacklustre performances.

Great to see Willow back, his ability to put a foot on teh ball and switch the play and just create space adds an extra dimension to our game and also helped turn the tie.

Well i am a lot more confident thatwe can at least get to the VT game still with a chance of winning the league, what a game that would be, but just need to be consistent and play our way.

Big well done to Scotty for changing the team and knwoing how to beat a team that was defending well, now if they can only defend well for 90 mins on Tuesday against Totton that would be great.

To be fair to Abingdon they seemed to have quite a young side and have clearly lost a few players over the course of the season. They actually defended really well but as Fuzzy said they didn't really have an attacking threat. They weren’t able to keep hold of the ball which meant their defence never got a breather.

The second half was a bit like a training match between attack and defence. Throughout this season we've repeatedly come good in the final 1/4 of matches. Obviously this is down to fitness but also determination. I have to admit on Saturday given some of the results of late and this being our 4th game in 8 days, I was hoping rather than expecting the now customary Windsor onslaught late in the game.

Jack looked good when he came on. He did something nobody else had done prior to his involvement and that was put crosses in along the ground. We got in so many good positions to Cross but all too often the crosses were floated in which didn't really trouble their centre backs or keeper. It was no coincidence that the goal when it eventually came, was from a low cross.

Good luck to Abingdon tomorrow night. They ruined our hopes when they beat us at their place late last season. Something similar tomorrow night be very welcome indeed. Even a draw will do!

I still think you'll do it and if it comes down to having to beat VT will come over to support youse ...... the really interesting one will be with yr tenants on Thursday. Youthful and a bit raw but they do have some players.

Bracknell surely should be one you'd win. Their keeper Kyle Bradley, who saved 7 certain goals on Saturday with blinding stops, completely exposed but coming out amazingly quickly and getting close enough to the ball to get a deflection wide of the post plus one amazing close in reaction to tip over a header, told us he was signing for W&E in the summer ... hmm.

One thing to say about Bracknell - we absolutely mullered them (without actually playing very well for about 15 mins mid way through the first half, banging the ball long to try and get through too quickly) but they did not argue amongst themselves, never blamed or moaned. And never once tried to kick somebody - it contrast to VT who dished it out crudely earlier in the week. You do need to hope for a draw for Totton so you will be playing a dead rubber next Monday!

Totally agree with your assessment of Bracknell, we caned them 6-0 and they didn't stop trying and didn't resort to any nasty tactics. Their kepper, and it was Kyle, played a blinder and kept it down to single figures single handedly. There was some controversy near the end when he appeared to throw a strop and walk off, but that has been discussed on here with the keepr himself and we shall take his word that he was injured and started with an injury (given the attitude of the team as a whole i won't dispute that, it was just how it looked on the day) but for a team rock bottom with 3 points all season you have to give them credit for the account they gave of themself in the manner in which they played.

As for VT we killed them off early at their place and the game was dead by half time, they looked a yard off the pace and Chenns was on fire, really hope they rest a few key players for the play offs, that would suit us to teh ground.

As for BG, well when i have seen them play they look alright but not great, prob means they will play us off the park and ruin our season!!!

Well CPS, hope to see you Monday and good luck for the playoffs (unless we are in them of course he he!!)

No offence but I'm hoping we don't see you on Monday CPS!!

If Totton lose or draw one (or both) of their 2 final games and we beat Bedfont and Bracknell by a few goals then we'll effectively be Champs anyway, in which case I doubt a visit to Stag Meadow would look too appealing!

Whilst there would be nothing better than needing a result on Monday (and getting it!) to seal a wonderful season, I'm not sure my nerves would stand it.

I can't make Saturday and am struggling with Thursday, so a draw tonight for Totton, we win our two games and score a hatful at Bracknell, so although we haven't technically won it Saturday it would be difficult for us to lose it, so i get best of both worlds, a stress free game that we win the league at. Its all rosy in my world!!!

in reality i reckon Monday we will need a win if we beat BG Thursday, and that is not guaranteed.

At least it is exciting, isn't that what we all want?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Facts are that it doesnt matter what Totton do. They are quite simple. Beat BG. Fact- we won 2-0 against them, they played tuesday, we did not. Will it be easy- absolutely not as they will be up for it as it is championship bearing and against the local landlord but the fact is that if they turn up and we turn up- I believe that we are a better side. Fact- we play Bracknell where losing is inconceivable and in truth, and with respect to Bracknell and their players, if we cannot beat them we dont deserve anything at all. Fact- now that VT have beaten Uxbridge, they are in the play offs with the semi next wed. If I was their manager, I would be thinking very carefully about my side at Windsor on the monday--- lets be honest- who wouldnt? Those are the facts and so it is down to us now to simply turn up in numbers and give Keith, Jim & the lads all the vocal support in the world because given what they have put up with this season, they certainly deserve that. We should also want to do it for Gavin, Seeds and Bully as well and no doubt they do!

Its so simple, all we have to do is win our next three games, and on paper we should - FACT!!!

But football isn't that simple, if we win tomorrow I will believe we can do it, but BG will be in no mood to hand out favours.

When I looked at our last six games of teh season I thought that Abingdon would be the hardest and all were winnable, when we lost to the Cleeve i was gutted, but now we are back in it and that makes me so nervous. We are good enough to take the title, we just need some nerves of steel and a belief from the players that hey can do it.

If we get to Monday with a further two victories under our belt I hope(and expect) to see a huge crowd and a preformance to match.

Wonder if any Totton fans will pop down to watch if it comes to that?

this is proper squeeky bum time for both Totton and Windsor

I don't think you will have much trouble on Thursday, we are playing marginally better since the return of our manager after 8 weeks in New Zealand but old habits die hard and last night we were 2-0 up and drew 3-3. Should be an interesting game though, we will have our leading scorer back and also our best defender who both missed the last game, I'd like to think that boosts us but the league table doesn't lie...
