Especially after a good season like this.Personally that rule should change: 3 points to the opposition and a fine(£100 or 50).This is an example of how another team could take advantage of Stansted not playing today.It will affect the title race,that's for sure.Come on lads,this is unreal

The league committee will now i imagine sit down to discuss this matter as i dont think this has happened before,my personal view is that the league should follow the essex olympian league lines,which is if a club cant raise a side the opposition get the 3 points and the result is declared as a 0-0 result a fine is also given to the defaulting club,how can a club which has approx 50 players signed on this season not be able to raise a team and play the game,its embarrasing,the league must be careful as to the decision they come to because in the future this sort of thing might come about again.

If thats what happens then so be it,blame basildon utd not stansted,receiving it lol,get a grip pal what about the other 25+ games this season stansted have already played this season,they are top for a reason which is they are the best side at present over the current season,you are only saying that because if stansted would have beat basildon today,witham and bethnal green would be practically out of it,now the pressure is on stansted to beat bethnal green next tuesday assuming witham beat enfield away next tuesday night,im quite sure if this had happened to witham you would be saying exactly the opposite and asking for the points.

If you,BGU,Burnham or Enfield win it, then you would have earned it over a season.

Your quite right Joe,seems to me he runs the club from top to bottom and gets very little thanks.

I would think the game got called off today because so many players are banned.I said in a previous post that I cant understand these thickos who keep arguing with the ref.( they never change their mind).I have watched many games this season and ive lost count of the games when at least 8 players have been booked for dissent and many sent off.I feel that if discipline doesnt improve a lot more teams will struggle to field a team.

Sorry, that dont wash with me, you have 50 players signed, they can't all be banned.

 

If the league dont punish you properly for this then any team that is short of their best players can ring up and say can't field a team and then when they are all available play the game.

 

We have played a number of games this season ( As have others in the league) without our first choice team, even had outfield players in goal for about 4 games at the start of the season.

 

Still p****d game wasn't played.

Not interested in what you are going to do, your chairman will act in the best interest of his club and we will act in the best interest of ours.

 

If you are as p*****d off as I am that the game wasn't played, perhaps you will get up a petition and complain to Basildon as it was THEM that cried off.

I'm afriad you're directing your question - and justified ire - at the wrong people. The only ones that know why this happened are the management and players. Richard is just the guy stuck in the middle, the one who runs around after them and takes the blame for things outside of his control. I'm just the one who, when not writing up their match for the local media or reading out incorrect scores at Southend Manor, pays a few quid on the gate to support them.

 

Agree with you totally, too, that Witham Town should not be concerned about any decision the League may make about something between Basildon United and Stansted.

I Can safely say I don't remember BGU getting any support when it was us with southend manor infact quite the opposite.

I think Stansted should be giving the points its embarrassing that this is happening and I can sympathise with the Stansted players and management it drove us mad.

If the rumours are true then I'm really praying that Basildon Utd,the most successful ESL club sorts itself out.They still have to play Takeley,Hullbridge,Clapton and Witham and hopefully they can fulfil their remaining fixtures....it will be a shame if they won't!The league has been good this year with many unpredictable results.This will damage the ESL reputation if not deal properly. :coffee (2):
