Oxford City 0-0 Slough Town

Very good workout for the new lads. Tonight's team I understand were all below 25 years old, so hope for the future. Basically I thought we dominated the game for large parts and put some good passing movements tonight, but lacked the goalscoring threat up front, and despite our good play Oxford had the best chance to win the match.

Was impressed with our new left-back (did anyone get his name, even though i'm doing the report for the site) and also Glen Harris played very well on the right of midfield. Howard, Brown and Gyoury also had excellent games again.

As subs were thrown on things began to get a little scrappy, but nearly won it through a Dan Whatford volley that went just past the post.

All in all I think the majority of the supporters were happy.

Nicely summed up Chris,

we looked pretty solid at the back & in the middle & out together a few nice moves coming forward. Never really looke dlike scoring despite some good work out wide. Deaner's 2 shots that would have gone out for throw ins if they'd been hard enough pretty well sums it up. McCarthy looked a bit wobbly in goal once or twice, but did well coming of his line & clearing a few times.

Given me some cause for optimism for the coming season if we get the off the field stuff sorted out. Well worth a 300 mile round trip!

Can't compare it with Saturday, but it looked a useful performance. At times, they played some really neat stuff, which once they git match fitness back, could potentially tear teams apart. Quick incisive forward passing to feet.

But as others have already said, looked a bit toothless upfront. Please can we have another striker Eddie to replace Deaner?

Highlight of the evening? Roge talking about his fifteen inches which had been used by everyone around his office. What a dirty slag! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
