This is a really spot on article and it would be good to reprint it in the programme - but it doesn't just apply to football but all areas of volunteering and community politics.

Too many people are fat lazy bastards that just sit in front of their tvs and watch the world go by - ready to moan, but not to act. I've sort of come to accept that, and try not to get to bothered about it and instead work with people who have got enthusiasm and a bit of get up and go.

But the article is right, every little helps and everyone could do a little bit - how about posters available at home games advertising the next few slough matches for people to take and put up at work/their local pub/newsagents for starters....

I know everything is all doom and gloom but I still think Slough are an amazingly well supported club and is a football mad town...after the defeat by the railwaymen (in front of nearly two thousand people if you include freebie tickets) so many Chelsea fans coming back on the

train asking me the score...

We just need to convince these people that non league is friendly, cheap (well it would be for me if i didn't have to subsidise the train companies), football not bad...I've managed to take the most unlikely people to see Lewes, Burgess Hill and AFC Wimbledon so it can be done.

Nice one to everyone who has done so much to keep the club alive - lots of my old mates have talked about the protests outside the town hall - it does have an impact, and it is worthwhile even if you wonder why theres not hundreds more with you.
