I thought overall we played reasonably well, there was no shortage of effort but Sutton showed their class in the second half and we were never going to win the game. We are a hardworking team but lacking in real class and desperately short of strike power.

Our player of the season has got to be awarded to the whole of the defence - the best defensive record in the league is a real credit and without the likes of Cousins, Wild, Kersey we would have been in deep trouble.

I thought we played well as well but disagree with "class" comment overall. The first half was pretty even and we had our chances (more than they did, if memory serves). I agree we're lacking up front but I thought Thomas put in more effort last night and up to when he was taken off (he has picked up a knock), was giving their back four some issues to deal with, when you put the three young lads around him (Charge, Green and Wareham).

The second half was a bit more scrappy and it was really the lack of expereience, not lack of class that showed. Our young lads did well and with our expereienced players, the whole team put in a superb effort. We do have the makings of a good team and with time, especially this season, could've gelled to form quite a good unit...the question is, will we retain the majority next season. I hope so.

I thought their goal was offside but I wasn't best placed to call it. Others said that it was a really good, defence splitting pass....whatever, the end result was well taken. Again, we had our chances before then (which is encouraging) and at nil all, the game could've gone either way.

I will say, what a breath of fresh air watching our lads last night. We didn't win but for a team which has been battered this season and includes a few young lads, we battled and whenever possible, took the game to a vastly more expereienced side (Some of our lads were eighteen years old!!! And all of them (young and....er older) played like lions, in my opinion - they certainly gave Sutton a run) .

And my MOTM....I hope you're all sitting comfortabley....Gareth Street. He may not have been the player that had the most flair but he never stopped battling, encouraging, tackling and motivating the team.

A fair post. The only thing i disagree with is that i really did not think Sutton were overly better than us, and that is what imo has made it all the more frustrating. You have to take your hats off to our defenders though because we have the best defensive record in the league so in theory we would have been top ! We are a very hardworking side but i guess the story of the season has just been a lack of goals. The first half i thought we matched them all the way, but i guess because of "their" league placing they were the ones who had that little bit extra in terms of confidence.

Anyway good luck to Sutton in their quest for connie south.

Big game Saturday for us !

I thought our first half performance, considering we had another re-shuffled team due to more injuries, was very commendable and against such high flying opposition just proves what an open league this is. A few good results and teams have gone from relegation worries to play-off positions (Aveley and Tonbridge for example)

Such a shame we suffered in the second half. If points were awarded for effort then I think we would have got them last night.

Unfortunately the effort did not get us a result so let's all get behind the team and give them the support they deserve to pick up three points on Saturday and then next Tuesday.
