Beer Festival & World Cup

Recommended Posts

I see New Lodge is hosting a Beer Festival on the weekend of 2nd, 3rd & 4th of July (advertised on the official site).

The World Cup quarter finals are that Friday & Saturday. Are they likely to be shown in the Club House during the festival?

And, on a general note, is there any plans afoot for the England (or any other) games to be shown in the Club House throughout the competition?

I know I'm a bit previous, but I do like to get organised :icon22:

Billericay Beer Festival

July 2nd – July 4th

Billericay Lions and Billericay Town Football Club have combined forces this year to bring to the town its first Beer Festival. With over 40 different beers on offer from around the country, the Festival will take place at New Lodge, home to the Football Club, from July 2nd until July 4th. With their commitment to the local community this is the first time that both the Lions and the Football Club have combined in such a way.

Chairman of the Football Club, Steve Kent, said,

‘We at Billericay Football Club want to show that we are an active part of the community, where people can come for all sorts of their activities, not just to watch their local team. We are proud to be hosting this festival together with The Lions’ support, and believe that this will be an annual event’. This will be the first major Lions’ event since Music from the Lake, which was performed from Lake Meadows up to 2001.

Lions’ President, Dave Parker, said,

‘We are proud to be working with the Football Club and once again doing something for the local community’.

The weekend promises to be an exciting affair. Local bands will be performing live, and television sets in the clubhouse will be showing the World Cup Quarter Finals so fans won’t miss a kick.

The festival ‘kicks off’ on Friday July 2nd at 6pm and the ‘final whistle’ is blown on Sunday at 4pm. Entry will be on the door at £5 for a souvenir glass and the first pint. Food stalls will be operating in the ground.
