Hatfield/Codicote Groundshare

Recommended Posts

And rhodes we dont want anyone else to look at us in any other light other than the one that already shines over us

No-one Likes Us - Is it coincidence that the one and only time I have 'had the pleasure' of meeting Hatfield Town fans they firstly tried to get into the Viking Sports Ground without paying and secondly drank the place dry, the Chairman had to drive to the nearest off licence at half time to get more supplies

yeah you are right the supporters should have paid to get in, then maybe you could use that money to sort out that ridiculous syrup of yours!!!

No-one Like Us - It was all so silly though and took me back to bunking into the local flea pit on a Saturday morning when I was twelve, the Hatfield Town Chairman had to embarrassingly go round at half time to have a quiet word with his own fans and they sheepishly and reluctantly pulled out a fiver, it's laughable really.

i bet you was a bit jealous that our chairman had fans to speak to Rhodes. perhaps you should invite a few pals from the blue oyster bar you are seen at quite reguarly to your games, im sure they would be happy watching your boys running around (and losing heavily).

No-one likes us, i have invited Rhodes down on numerous occasions to watch our games, but he's not as brave without a pc in front of him.

So they brought some much needed sales to the Tik Tok bar

Loosely - That's just it, they didn't, the Chairman did them a favour by driving to the nearest off licence just before half time and sold the cans of Carlsberg at roughly the same price he paid for them

Keeps - We weren't aware of the drinking culture at Hatfield Town at that time otherwise we would have done

Obviously my original response didn't meet with approval so I will rephrase it, we didn't know about Hatfield Town's reputation at that time

He should, the Train Station is only about 1/2 mile away from Gosling!!!! Maybe it's too far a hike!

There appears to be some updated information on Codicote's Website whereas there is barely a mention of the groundshare on Hatfield Town's site:

http://www.codicotef....pl?news=338421

http://www.hatfieldt...o.uk/index.html

Also the Codicote website says summit about both sides playing first team games at WGC????

Anyway here is a trivia question to all football diehards, 'When did Hatfield Town last play on a pitch they could call their own?'

Our last competitive match we played in Hatfield was against Park Street Village in 2008 . We won 4-0 ! ......Also , Kings Langley had their own ground with no floodlights and teams such as yourselves had 2pm kick offs away from home with early meet times when some players were still working ! Ask Tucks , oh sorry you cant as he has called it a day . Surely not because of your lack of ambition as a football club ??????? Ps . You couldn't lend us a couple of hundred grand could ya ? So we could buy a piece of land to build our own stadium on . Cheers ! ...... All donations to morechanceofgettingawhaleupyourarsethanhatfieldhavingtheirownground.com

I assume that the Hatfield Town/Codicote groundshare is still firmly in place for next season

I regard a groundshare as one club subletting their facility to another, as per the model of, say, Hanwell Town and the string of clubs they have had as tenants. Hatfield Town and Codicote each have separate agreements with the Gosling Stadium, along the lies of the two Dunstable clubs at Creasey Park. More than a subtle difference in my view.

I don't recall it being made clear on here what happened with the Hatfield Town and Codicote groundshare, I believe Codicote are still plying their trade at the Gosling Sports Park so presumably Hatfield were unable to keep to their side of the agreement

Hatfield Town are still at the Gosling Sports Park. It's clearly explained on their website why they are playing out the remainder of the season at different grounds.

But I guess you wouldn't have tried to find out the truth would you. You don't like facts. Much better to dig up a year old thread in order to stoke up another of your on-going vendettas.

Sjj2112 – No I didn’t check Hatfield Town’s Website however I did point out from day one didn’t I that there would inevitably be problems with the groundshare, the writing was very much on the wall

Obvious someone trying to poke the fire without any knowledge, but as I know Codicote quiet well I’ll put some facts down for you. Both clubs rarely have anything to do with each other, only the scheduling of home games is when our paths cross so neither Club have an axe to grind about the other. Yes Hatfield at present no longer play at Gosling, the reasons why you’ll need to discuss with the Club, their ex Chairman (who removed the walkway and the dugouts when he left) the CEO of the Sport Ground who’s dugout they are and potentially the old bill. (If dugout not returned).

All Codicote know is that they (Hatfield) are positively looking for another ground, whilst Codicote and the Sport Ground are moving the ground forward ready for next season.

A lot of cases you've rested Cliffordo must be quite a high stack, careful they don't topple over and crush you lol. Have you congratulated London Colney yet on their excellent season and winning the title in impressive fashion?
