Hatfield/Codicote Groundshare

Recommended Posts

Yes I heard about this a week or so ago but didn't post it as I didn't think it was really SSML related, it's great news for Codicote who I predict will be playing in the SSML the season after next

In what way isn't it SSML related? If it is news about where an SSML team are going to be based then in my book that makes it SSML related.

It is certainly more SSML related than a number of the subjects you raise on here.

Sjj2112 - Well the last time I looked Codicote were playing in the Hertfordshire Senior County League and Harlow Town were in the Ryman Division 1 North, how is that SSML related

I wonder why you think that? (there's no need to reply, as it's because one of your heroes is assistant manager there, for the time being).

NeutralFan - Yes for once you're right as I don't know where I got Harlow Town from either, apologies but anyway Hatfield Town have got out of jail as they would have been relegated to the SSML Division 1 had it not been for the move to the Gosling Sports Park, I wonder whether there's a bar there. I already get the impression from the article that Hatfield will try to rule the roost over Codicote at the stadium however from what I can gather they are equal partners.

Rhodes, you are an embarrasing fool to yourself! First of all we are the senior side playing there, Codicote are groundsharing with us. 2nd of all, yes it does have a bar, although why you have to bring this sort of comment up AGAIN is beyond me, i guess its just because you like to have digs and cause arguments, which i must admit you are very good at, hense why you seem not to be very well liked. If you get a spare hour from your hectic 'social life', have a wander down to Gosling and have a look a the on going work that we are paying for to 'get out of jail' as you patheticly put it. Also you will notice signs saying 'Home of Hatfield Town Football Club', Not Harlow..................... or Codicote

If I were someone from Codicote reading your comments above I would already be feeling a little uncomfortable. I assume both your First Team and Reserves will be playing at the Gosling Sports Park next season or will your Reserves still be plying their trade at the Birchwood Leisure Centre

well your not are you, so its pretty hyperthetical. Why would you feel uncomfortable? The bar is quite comfortable, hopefully you join us for a drink in there next season!

It's interesting that you don't answer the burning question as to whether your First Team and Reserves will both be playing at the Gosling Sports Park next season

You really are hard work. How could our 1st, Reserves and Codicote all play at the same ground?? Burning question?? i just didn't think it needed answering being such a stupid question!

Here you go soppy - No our reserves will not be playing there next season, happy now?

See you at Gosling next season xxxxx

The truth is slightly different , Codicote FC were excepted as the resident club by Gosling Sports Park and when Hatfield approached them a second time, after messing them about the first time, were told that they would need to ask for our agreement to play there. So technically Hatfield are groundsharing with Codicote. It is true that the bulk of the cost of bringing the ground up to a suitable standard is being supported by Hatfield but we have offered the use of our floodlights to further improve the brightness on the pitch . I am sure that we will in time erect our own sign saying 'Home of Codicote Football Club'.

I'm sure Adam (Fisher not Parker!!!) will pay for the sign out of his own pocket! We shall see what happens next year won't we. But one thing is for certain, we didnt have to approach Codicote for there permission, Gosling were more than happy with what we will be bringing to the stadium. You was not at the meeting we had with Gosling so technically you don't really know what was said! Roll on next year.................
