Gutted

You took the word right out of my mouth Tony. GUTTED well & truly! Theres no other words to describe that ending to the game.

I think that finally puts us out of our misery once & for all. Oh well, back to Southwood 2010/11.

haha cookie, you said that the same year you said you would bet your house on us staying in the connie south (lucky you didnt) :P

my positive from today was blackman looks like he is training to be a professional wrestler, for some reason I wanted him to body slam someone and then flex his guns. (is he on roids as im sure he was never pumped like that b4)

2004/5 season eh! Gees you have had that stuck in your mind all these years. How sad! I do however recall something to that effect (though whether was it that particular season I'm not so sure of) but anyway & as you can see today I am confident of a return but with no house up for grabs.Maybe its because I lost it first time round. :biglaugh:

Yes its trying to eke out a positive from a negative today I suppose.

We have to in my book make sure we keep Jamie Turner , our best keeper for a few seasons in my book .

At the back we must keep hold of Grant Hooper Arran Lacy and Dan Young , the best we have at the back by a long way .

In Mid i would expect Jay to stay along with Barnes, Stubbs and Wilson .

Up front easy job really Pinns and maybe Leroy as a super sub i think Lloyd will leave whatever happens .

so whatever league we are in a good spine will be needed and this is the spine we need to keep , IOC can then fit in whoever he wants to build his team for the new season .

You lot have very short memories

For those of us here during the last forty years we have seem ups and downs aplenty

The 1960s we were in the Southern League Premiership and Division One South

In the 1970s we were in the same situation

In the 1980s we almost went out of business

In 1990s we were like the fiddlers elbow going up and down before the days of Chris Kinner and remember his first years were not full of glory

Yes we have been in the [censored] several times and yes we have been in clover several times.

We have no God given right to Conference football as no team has.

All we can do is support OUR team to the best of OUR ability and help in any small way we can to get the best for Margate Football Club.

Yes we will have [censored] times but we can also have brilliant times too

If we gave up on our club we are nothing. Just look at other clubs if we were all defeatist there would only be the glory boys of Man Utd Chelsesa and Arsenal left to support and I for one would not want that.

Margate is my team, my town, my life.

We live on and fight to get better

Gutted for you guys,ok,aveley winning doesn't do us any favours, but in all honesty i was looking at your result, simply for the reason i want you lot to stay up.

If you do go down you will jump straight back up without doubt, but keep the faith, win your last couple of games and the others still have to get points, your form of late says you can do it

Don't really know why so many are so confident we will bounce straight back. Probably those who were predicting we would bounce straight back into the Conference when we were relegated; the same who said we would bounce straight back when we were relegated into the Ryman Premier; and the same who said we would get into the playoffs this season! Think we'll probably be top 10 or so.... playoffs would be a success.

I think we need to wait and see what sort of side IOC shapes over the summer before we can make any sort of predictions. It's a scrappy league, and you need battlers in there to earn the right to win it. It comes down to having a watertight defence and spine that is formed over the summer. Look at the top teams in any league. Consistency and battling qualities. There still needs to be some form of clearout. Opinions on that on hold until the season is over, from me anyway.

First of all, if we WIN at Tooting it brings a totally different complexion. Our away form is so much better than our home form. I still think that fourth from bottom will probably get a reprieve so let's at least aim to pick up two wins and keep our fingers crossed. I still think fourth bottom could be on anywhere between 46-50 so let's give ourselves a chance by reaching 48. Our job is clear. WIN next week then think about the following week.

There's plenty of time for feeling sorry for ourselves but now is not it. 24 hours on, the disappointment is out of the system and we move on to Tooting. COYB

For my part, when I say we will come straight back it is purely a positive comment on my part with no reason other than that for saying it. There is no factual reason at this stage for believing we will do well but I want to believe an immediate return can be achieved.

Speaking of being positive, yes, yesterdays match has gone now & my original thoughts of us being doomed to relegation were in hindsight a bit premature.Negative thoughts were a plenty after yesterdays giveaway & like most, was just feeling pretty grim last night thats all.

As mentioned elswhere we DO still have a squeak of staying up,admittedly a very very slim chance (nothing suggests a reprieve is on the cards though) but trying to be positive again & again as mentioned elsewhere, a win at Tooting & a few results going our way from now on & things could still become very interesting indeed leading into the final home game v Hastings.

I don't think results will go our way as they will all balance out but 4th from bottom cannot really go down. I agree with both of you our away form is good. A week of semi rest and another cup final next week. Win that optomism. Lose only pride and presentations in the last one. Ian will still be with us. That's a positive. Big time. That's positive for ME
