We are still taking the stands big guy - that has never been an issue. Not sure about the other stuff - think the turnstiles are coming with us as well. Other stuff will be provided for at the new ground, whether it's the buildings currently at Goldsdown Road or new facilities at Donkey Lane. Toilets and club shop, for example, will, I think, be incorporated into the existing buildings.

The agreement with BRSSC is for the Goldsdown Road site to be left at a minimum spec (step 5 or possibly 6 - can't remember). This will be easily managed from stuff we already own.

Ah, but does that agreement cover who is playing there, do you know FJ? If it stipulates that the infrastructure is left for BRFC all well and good, but does it cover things if they no longer exist? Despite the stupid comments aimed at us from one or two at BRFC, I would have no problem with the ground being left at, say, a step 5 level. I can well remember, though, the park stadium/football jibes aimed at us by certain supporters of club 18-93 when we were formed. For that reason, I hope that anything left for their use once we leave is kept to a bare minimum.,

Indeed. And what are your thoughts on your beloved BRFC no longer existing after the current season ends?

I don't know for sure PV, but the trained lawyer in me would suggest the following:

The joint lease is between ETFC and BRSSC. Therefore the football team playing under the auspices of the Brimsdown Club would have the same rights of occupation as the current BRFC.

Apart from the two main stands,i doubt Town will want to transfer anything else from Goldsdown Road.

It suits us to leave a viable ground in order to maintain revenue. Also ,as we have two teams using the ground at the moment..I can see no reason why this can't continue after 2011.It would be sensible to seek income from an outside team groundsharing with 1893BRFC.

Ps..I think the proposed merger can only benefit us financially.I think our only cause for concern would be any furure manipulation by the two merged teams in order to increase their own revenue, whilst limiting Towns...Ie.THE DOWNS BAR..I've been argueing for a long time that our board need to seek clarification from the council and ensure that no part of the current facility is kept seperate from the joint 50/50 agreement that is in place..Otherwise the new clubs supporters will no doubt only frequent the bar that their club would be making most profit out of.

Profit??????? What profit????? The only reason they are merging is firstly to undermine the work (or try too) ETFC have done in bringing non-league footy back to Enfield and secondly to get the 15 BRFC fans to merge with the 30 'Kronenburg 1673' fans so that the bar takings are made as good as possible. In my view it is yet again a load of effort for very little when bigger opportunities were available.

It signals a lack of intelligence, ambition and negative drive. Very similar to all the politics going on in the local youth leagues (too long to go into on here) it's no wonder England rely on the multitude of foreign coaches (including Capello) and players to support this countries elite and that the only time the World Cup was won was in 1966 when you get a merger with little if any positivity of this nature.

Like the previous posting states they are welcome to each other, but it was no wonder that the Councils preferred partner in all thats gone on was ETFC.

Lol, You were the Council's preferred partner because you'd make the most money to fill their pockets ;)

As Gazza put it, 'Who cares?' Apparently most of you..too much!

Not at all FF. I don't care toooo much. But lets face the facts we all originate from the same background and thats EFC. All I feel is a feeling of despair that how brilliant EFC were and we have the chance to re-create that, so what happens??? The newly formed E18-- whatever FC is formed and want to compete in the same borough against ETFC. Do you honestly believe the BRFC+ 18 whatsit will make big strides forward?? I honestly can't see it thats not being vindictive but expressing an honest opinion.

However if you'd accepted the merger with ETFC then we'd have a larger Enfield based club with bigger ambition, even the youth sections would have been bigger. And lets face it the ETFC offer's the correct constitution and as democraticly elected officers you can get.

Again, good luck to the new club, but I can see a new dawn appearing for football in our borough and it's not from the new merger fc.

Good luck to EFC1893 and if you merge with BRFC so be it but at least the real heart and soul of Enfield football will be in the borough and the others will be in the souless atmosphere of the QE Stadium running track and all. Will you ever get 900-1000 fans watching you again.....no f**king chance!!

And you base your comment about the heart and soul of Enfield on what exactly?

...and the merged club will be in the souless atmosphere of a ground with no decent stands. Will you ever get 150 - 200 fans watching you again.....no f**king chance!! (well I suppose if the visiting club has a large traveling contingent wel...may be!!!)

Yhis paragraph about sum's you, in particular, up.

And yep in time (thats within 5 years) we can potentially hit the 900's in attendence at the QE. Sadly Enfield18's and BRFC will only ever be a glorified park team.

some of the posts on here defy belief, is there any wonder that a merger between the two clubs hasnt taken place, given the amount of acidic comment spewed about .

what would be the point.

as for one persons comments - re glad to leave this dump etc etc,

perfect summary - utter disrespect / comtempt, happy to call a place home, but happy to trash it on or close to exit.

lets face some simple facts - no one is ever going to agree on the rights and wrongs of either clubs existance, so lets get over that. back when ETFC was formed people made a decision to join this enterprise - and for what they believed to be the right reasons, whilst others decided to stay with EFC, for what they believed to be their right reasons - and both are right.

now ETFC have their sights on a new ground - and good luck with that, whist EFC have also sights on a ground - .

please can everyone get a fecking life, get over themselves and find something else to occupy their minds rather than this poxt sh1t on here.

good luck to all and roll on the cricket season for some proper sport.

Be quite happy too, one you stop posting the drivel about a Phoenix rising and settling in Enfield. You are not Enfield FC. Enfield FC ceased to exist when it folded and Club 18-93 was formed. Club 18-93 will also cease to exist once you merge with Brimsdown, assuming it is a merger. Stop pretending to be EFC reincarnated, and people will have more respect for what you are trying to do. Club 18-93 has no more claim to EFC's history than ETFC do. Once Club 18-93's people accept that, people may move on.
