So 15th now, +1 goal difference, 2-0 win over our rivals and 616 in NL...and an unhappy return for Dorms.

Very entertaining game, well done the management. MOTM for me has to be Chatting.

Well Done lads, rode our luck for an hour, last 20 minutes there was only going to be one winner, us!!!!

Hornchurch could have done with bigger goals and where unlucky on more than one occassion, but for our effort and performance especially in the last 20 minutes I think that

we were worth a winning result. Oates and Cousins were great today and I thought Wareham was having a good game and threatened throughout. Harrison did well but

needs to brush up on his passing. Did enough to merit his place IMO. 2 goals to Billy says it all. Well done lads!!!!!!!! MOM Greg Oates for me.

And well done Mr Mifsud....... Great Result!!!!!!!

I haven't enjoyed being at a Billericay Town match so much since...we beat Hornchurch away in the FA Cup in September last year, nothing against the Urchins, it's just that's the last time I saw us win can you believe ?!

Great to see New Lodge buzzing with our biggest gate of the season, aided no doubt by those tempted down by the Help The Heroes event which definitely enhanced the atmosphere around the place which was 100% positive from start to finish. Well done all players, management, staff and fellow Blues fans.

Nathan and me will be at Carshalton Thursday, even if I have to ply him with crisps and cokes all night and sit him on the terraces with his Nintendo DS !!!:excited:

A great result and we deserved the bit of luck that we had, keep widening that goal frame!!!

Bit unfortunate that the rumours of Simon Thomas's departure seem to be unfounded, its a great pity that he hasn't got the work ethic of the rest of the squad, surely a reputation has to be earned to be deserved.

A top 10 finish anybody !!!!!???

What a way for any management to start ! a win and a clean sheet. Had brief chat with JM after and says it how he sees it so well done.

To be fair Hornchurch did strike the post 3 times ?? but the ball did not go in and as they say "we" took our chances. There seemed a renewed energy about the players today and was a refreshing change. Good early substitutions in second half as it was clear we were not going to get much with Thomas leading the line, but full credit to the players as they coped admirably .

Enjoyable day all round what with the Help 4 Heroes event .

Nervous from the start with Hx hitting the post a four times but then again, we did the same later on in the first half twice and had two cleared off the line. Hx had the better of the first half but nerves aside, we did counter and looked to play more open football.

2nd half, Hx came out and hit the under side of the bar once but after Thomas left the field, we started to look a little more assured. Wareham was a little unlucky to come off imo but with Green on, we started to find space behind Hx and the game started to swing in our favour. Billy took his first goal and the following penalty sealed the game two nil in our favour.

A brave performance by all the team. JM said the team wasn't going to hide and they didn't. I suppose you could say that yesterday was in answer to quite a few criticisms that have been leveled at the team this season in that it was a very entertaining match. There have been plenty of times this season where we have dominated and have come away with nothing. Kingstonian away comes to mind. This time, the tables reversed. Luck evens itself out over the season.

A great result for JM and Paul Moody, a great result for the team and a great result for the club!!!

A good battling performance topped off by a really great result.

Credit first and foremost must go to the players who allayed our pre match fears and were quite obviously up for the fight from the first whistle. Ian Cousins has taken some flack on this forum this season, but he was immense yesterday and led from the front as all good captains should.

Credit also must go to JM to making some brave substitutions at key times in the game. Charge made all the difference up front (he could hardly have done any worse than the person he replaced) and worked really hard in tandem with Billy in creating some pressure on the Hx back four. Also thought that Danny Green did well when he came on and capitalised on all the good work previously done by Dave Wareham.

We’ve got 2 big games this week now and if we can come away from Carshalton & Wabbey with a few points we should be safe.

Ashamed to say i was one of the ones that doubted Cousins and for that i apologise. (nothing like being proved wrong)

Well done for a whole club effort yesterday, I can't remember being more nervous at a game.

For me Harrison Chatting was immense yesterday and had a great build up to one of our goals.

The changes by JM were spot on, Well done that man and good luck in your new role.

From a very proud Ricky Fan.

Great to see the luck going our way for a change.

Excellent result from an entertaining game, despite a few heart stopping moments, well done JM and the team and I think good substitutions.

Interesting match report from Dagger03 on Hx forum.

Still trying to figure out where the 350 away supporters were hiding, also I don't recall any fouls from our side that were on a par with their two bookings and as for the toy helicopter on the lower field making a nuisance of itself...........that's really clutching at straws!

od dear lamps, anyone who reads dagger 03s reports knows that they are tongue in cheek.Only a fool would believe there was 350 urchins in the crowd, lets face it we are having trouble getting 300 through the gate for our home matches at the moment

As for the match,we should of won the game in the first half, the second half for all our possesion we rarely looked dangerous apart from early on when we hit the bar and forced the keeper to an acrobatic save a bit later.

After that, with your young legs we were always going to get caught on the break as we looked for the win, although we could of gone up to 6th with a win and put ourselves in the frame for the play offs, the characteristics of this league combined with the fact that all the teams in it seem to be as crap as each other at times means we are still just about in with a shout.

At this stage it's results that count and that was a great result.

Given our next two games are against Carshalton and Wabbey I reckon a minimum of two points in those games would be enough to keep us up although I'm sure we'll be trying for more.

A lot has been said about one player who maybe didn't do it, but all the others certainly did and that's great credit to them, especially those who have taken the lead in keeping our squad together in what must have been a difficult week or so.

The help for heroes bash certainly helped make it a good day all round for our football club yesterday.

Come on you Blues!!

During the last 30 minutes we played like a decent team. Some decent passes and good balls if we can play our remaining games like this then we could finish in a respectable position.

When Simon Thomas joined us I so wanted him to score goals like Gutzmore did.

Good last 30 minutes

As for the helicopter it made a welcome detraction, before we (Ricky) got our first I did fear a 1 nil defeat.

Although I always knew we were going to win..................gosh its good to say things like this with hindsight.

I reckon Hornchurch were a bit unlucky, having hit the woodwork 5 times by my count....however they didn't take their chances and we did!! Woo hoo!

Best sub of the night was on 60 minutes..no names no pack drill

Having read the Hornchurch match report I have not seen such a one sided preferential report since the last party political broadcast!

What a fantastic game..no nails left and what a great result

WELL DONE YOU BLUES!

Can't wait for the next game, but the reserves on wednesday night will keep things going nicely.

Incidentally, good value at £3..go have a look

Massive result but, in a strange way, a deserved one if only for the tremendous application put in by the majority of the players involved. Sure Hornchurch rattled the woodwork on more occasions than I can ever remember being done before by any visiting team but lady luck puts herself around throughout every season and, on Saturday, it was our turn to reap the benefits (how nice it is to be able to say that).

I have often been underwhelmed by Cousins contribution as captain but I take my hat off to him on Saturday because, in the centre of defence, he was immense. Likewise I have not seen Greg Oates play better all season - he grafted, battled and won so many important tackles that I lost count.

Great to see H get the chance to play the full 90 mins and although he tired towards the end he did more than enough to justify further regular inclusion in my opinion (even allowing for the fact that his passing was waywards at times). He looks a player destined for big things, but hopefully not before Billericay have had our ample fill from him.

There was a good feel back at the club on Saturday, helped by the result of course, but the general atmosphere was buzzing nicely and even the banter with the 50 odd Urchin fans was kept friendly / cheeky rather than offensive.

Not sure why Simon Thomas is such an enigma - he has the physical build and skill to pretty much do what he wants when he gets the ball which should be frightening for the opposition but he just appears so disinterested in doing anything constructive or demanding. A real shame - only highlighted further by the efforts of Danny Charge when he joined the fray and played big parts in both of our goals.

Last laugh though is the match report on the Hornchurch website which really beggers belief. If it had been written by a ghost 'reporter' from a bar stool late in the evening whilst listening to the afternoons events from an equally p*ssed Urchins supporter it still wouldn't qualify as an excusable account of events. 350 away fans?? Where were the other 300 - hiding on the bottom pitch (playing with the toy helicopter perhaps?) or still in the High Street having a beer? Urchins forwards causing havoc and chaos in the Town defence? Really? What season was that then? Farcical penalty - when the guilty tackle would have received no higher praise if executed at Twickenham? Farcical defending more like! Sure they can feel more than a little hard done by at the end of the day but come on..........

...er nice peice JM but for your last paragraph...

...it's generally recognised that the "report" is a p*ss take and is not supposed to be taken seriously...

(whisper). It's the sense of humour they peddle in that area...they think it's funny....go with 'em on this and move on...

The Urchins Match Reports are legendary. They must be pi**ing themselves at all the "bites" they've gotten since yesterday. But then we've got the points :-)

It was one of the most enjoyable Home games this season. Great effort all round. Like many others I was shocked when Dave Wareham was taken off but full marks to the management for getting it right. If Si Thomas is fully fit he has no excuses for that lame effort. I just hope maybe there's something affecting his game that we're not aware of.

Comedy moment... Chatting & Pond forming the shortest 2-man wall you've ever seen.
