Local club in trouble?

Recommended Posts

Yes, there was an article printed in the Windsor Observer on the subject - Source

Lets just hope Slough don't get into the same situation, I always thought Windsor were financially sound. It highlights the need to budget accordingly and not to spending more than you can afford.

Ideally a club should live within its means - gate receipts, bar takings, sponsorship and cup winnings should be the only things spent.

Well I hope Windsor sort it out, but how will they afford Premier football next season? They are pretty well nailed on for promotion IMO, unless these issues are affecting performances/morale.

http://www.nonleague.co.uk/forum/topic/144636-keeping-it-really-interesting/

Have a look at the above link as there are intresting statements being made by the Windsor boys!

looking at the above link seems like a similar siyuation when we were at windsor claiming to have no money for ground improvements/players and the tenants were behind with the rent . always trying to put the blame at someone elses door rather than there own , i tend to think that they have bad financial managementand therein lies the evil and their basic problem. always has been always will be unless they change something.

I was interested by several of the quotes from Bedfont Green such as this one.......

"I can also confirm that BGFC do not owe WEFC a penny but who could blame them if they did, the ground is in a terrible state, the pitch is not fit for purpose and as for the lack of respect shown by some at Windsor dont even get me started !"

Deja vu. Windsor really are their own worst enemies, aren't they?!

I hope Slough don't get in the same mess.Someone on the forum said we've had 43 players this year.Don't know if this figure is true. That might include the youth team, which has been a great asset this year.Someone else said that we had 60 in one year.I can only assume that had to be the Steve Browne/Martyn Deaner era and look where we ended up then ie players not getting paid,no pre-season,ground sharing, etc.

Hopefully, with the trust and our current Chairman/board and our manager we're being far more 'canny' with our expenditure. As was claimed at the start of the season.

Non league clubs at our level going through a lot of players in in a season is pretty much the norm as some players at this level come and go freeley as 95% of them are not under contract.

Take 3 players who have left us Craig O'Connor, Phil Turner and Steve Jackman. Been registered at three clubs this season.

At the end of the day, the Club Committee have an income and set a budget.

If the Management/Playing staff exceed that budget, then one of two things will have to happen..........

Lets hope it's just a 'Flash in the Pan', and things are resolved soon. I know several of the 'leading-lights' at Stag Meadow and wish them well !
