A little tougher today.

 

Tonbridge took the lead from a good move and a good finish by Hamid Barr after 15 minutes, but 7 minutes later Vinnie John matched it with a fine strike after a misplaced defensive pass. We took the lead on the half hour when Mark Risley slotted home from 8 yards.

 

There was some great passing football in the second half with Tonbridge having the balance of play but there were few goalscoring chances from either side. Tonbridge equalised deservedly though from the spot through Hamid Barr (I think) with about 15 minutes left.

 

Did anyone else notice that the ref only played 43 minutes per half ?? Perhaps there's something wrong with my watch....

Well is it, i seem to remember you where playing the not so Great Wakering Rovers, same standard of football, so i wouldn't be one to criticise, eh?

I thought they were a good team...5th last year in the Doc Martin equivilant of Div 1 Nth

 

they played some good passing football and with three nippy strikers up front caused all sorts of trouble at times...

 

we looked a bit out of sorts today...excepting it was only our second pre season game...

 

thought we lacked a bit of creativity in midfield and passes were going astray far to often ...

 

all in all a good friendly game at a nice little 'genuine non league set up' and really friendly people....

 

that lot will do alright next year....

Yeah a really nice bunch except for the annoying screeches of cheat, cheat at the ref <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> but an all together lovely atmosphere and a pretty nice ground.

 

I think it was a patchy performance but alot of encouraging moments especially on our defending of set piece where we were pretty poor last season.

 

Alot tougher than Tuesday but we where playing a much better side.

 

PS;Good to see Vinnie and their keeper remember it's a freindly when they shook hands during the seconed half.
