Northwood 2-1 Slough

A little disappointing, but it was our first pre-season match and we are rebuilding after quite a few players have left us.

First half was fairly even against a Northwood first team with us probably going closest through an Ian Hodges header.

They were al over us early in the second-half and scored two cracking goals from the edge of the area before a handball when Glen Harris ran through saw Spencer score from the spot.

Bright notes were Anthony Howard, Steve Daly, Nick Gyoury and Adrian Browne. Disappointments were our lack of width and creativity up-front and midfield with Spencer only looking capable of doing something. Also none of the trialists really stood out as well.

Lot of work to do - well see who the new players are for the Oxford City match hopefully though.

Mini report to follow on the site a bit later

Spencer was very good today, and our defence fought well, but Hodge aside, our attack struggled. For me, Spencer was in a class of his own, and reveled in an otherwise lacking midfield.
