Just got in after a nightmarish journey home - god that win felt good today....

first half we were all over Rothwell despite playing up a severe slope and we could have gone in 2 or 3 goals up. But in the second half we fell asleep and took too long to get going, hence Rothwell equalised.

Thankfully the lads picked up the pace again in the last ten minutes and scored 2 very good and vital goals. The substitutions this afternoon were all completely the right decisions as far as I was concerned, so fair play to Bateman for that - Sammy Bateman in particular really changed the way the game was being played by getting stuck in in the midfield and putting pressure on Rothwell.

And thankfully, Elliot kept his cool after a largely frustrating afternoon to pass the ball around the keeper from just outside the box to put us 2-1 up. Sippetts' well-taken lob was the icing on the cake. And it gave us the chance to break out the new chant for him that we've been saving for his first goal - a tongue in cheek rendition of Annie Lennox's Walking on Broken Glass!

Special mentions for Harper for bossing the back line and being that voice on the pitch we've needed for so long and to Simon Martin who easily had his best game in a Slough shirt today.

Great result boys, well done for not giving up. :)

Agree with Charlies' comments above, Martin had his best performance in a Slough shirt, chasing balls down and putting presure on the defence.

Although Elliot can do the left wing job he is wasted there and should be played in the middle, as soon as he came into the middle he scored - need to get Sealy back to let Elliot get in the middle and do what he does best - score goals!

Yet another visit to a tin pot club where we travel 100+ miles and out number the locals 3 to 1 - you can see why clubs like this are going to the wall.

Elliot and Sean's work rate superb in the first half , thought Bateman again done well as did Sippetts and the voice of Harps at the back a big plus

Let's be honest ..if we got some breaks and some shooting boots on , we would and should have been out of sight ..however we did not and again

it went to the wire for the second game on the trot..Slough fully deserved their win today , countless chances ..which is a good thing...at least there

were many today...and the other end Perks had to make 2 saves all match ..except for the their goal..

special mention to Mo for a reasonable game today ., must be difficult without much first team football for a long while..played a good part in the team today and with a bit more luck could have scored a hat trick !

We really hope that Rothwell get things sorted ..its not nice to see a club struggling ...

Can only echo what others have said. Simon Martin really impressed me today, his work rate and energy was top notch and he seemed much more committed than in recent games. I think it's important to stress that those of us who have knocked him don't mind if his strike rate is slightly down (and he was still off target a couple of times today) if his performances show the same enthusiasm as today. Dean Harper made up for his nightmare of a game on Tuesday and, although I know I disagree with a couple of people, I WOULD make him captain for his single minded will to win and his vocal encouragment to the rest of the team. Finally, well done Garry Sippetts for his first goal and to Buchanan who, having missed an easier chance 2 minutes earlier, must have had all sorts of thoughts running through his head as he went clear to score the winner; I think the nerve he showed to score makes it clear to see why he is capable of playing at a higher level and why he is our number 1 striker.

From despair to ecstacy (I think thats how you spell it) in the space of 10 minutes.

There keeper had a blinder and kept them in the game and was also up for a bit of banter much like the Barton keeper.

I know he can cross a good ball but to keep Buchanan out wide is sacriledge. How many top scorers do you know that are asked to play wide because of there crossing ability?

Special mentions to Harps who had a solid game and Sippets for his first goal, coolness personified to lob the keeper.

Definately need more vocal activity on the pitch, especially to warn players if there is a man on or they have plenty of time to sit on the ball for a bit (if you know what i mean). Dean is especially good at this and also Jacko, even when he is not playing you can always hear his voice.

I do mean this in a nice way of course.
