A basic ground with a very good clubhouse. Plenty of space even when everyone was kicked out of the main room to set up for a party later on. The pitch itself was basically a muddy field, plenty picked up on my feet. Roped off on three sides with two wooden dugouts on one side. Opposite was an old brick dugout which would offer a little cover (though I'd suggest bringing something to sit on.

 

Game itself was never going to be a 0-0 with the teams involved. Bletchley started the brighter and quickly went 1-0 up. The second goal was bundled in on 25 minutes with claims of a knee to the head of the visiting captain. Cue a delay plus protests which saw a defender booked for telling the referee what he thought.

 

Finally some common sense from the player who pointed out the best response would be to play them off the park; which was taken on board. Shortly after half time they'd taken the lead and looked for most of the second half as though the lead would be increased, including an effort where goal ine technology would have been useful. The equalizer came against the run of play with 10 minutes to play and set up a lively finish with both sides having chances to win it.

 

Plenty of other chances at either end. Some poor finishing, a couple of decent saves and the odd how on earth did that not go in moments throughout.

To be fair to the old fella, alot of younger players could learn alot from watching NF play...he may not have the legs but he still has everything else.....( NF you owe me £50 for this post) ha ha

I'm not that old... just because the guy that played alongside me against Oxhey last week was 20 years younger than me doesn't make me old (Another year older in 2 weeks time!)
