League High Scoring Records

Recommended Posts

With clubs playing two or three times a week, the last thing I ever thought I would be relaying to you all is League Records but in recording the first ever 9's in succession it transpires that ALL the League High Scoring Records involve one club - STANSTED !

Stansted FC hold the League Record score, 15-1 away at Coggeshall in 1984, also the highest Cup Home win 15-0 against Woodford Town in 2001 and the worst League defeat, 1-14 at Bowers United in 2007 . Now 9-2 and 9-0 in succession is, as far as I am aware, another League Record !

Don't remind me i played in the 1-14 game for Stansted, we bundled in a goal second half and celebrated like we'd won the league but the whole game was a nightmare- How times have changed, 2 nines on the bounce, hopefully we can keep it down to 8 next tuesday. Before Jenko asks I did set the tactics for the Bowers game but it didn't quite go to plan.

i played for bowers in the 14-1 and got roasted after the game for letting one in!

Smallsy, I remember you got bundled over the line in the melee and started on me it was very funny, it was a moral victory we forgot all about the 14 we conceded after seeing your face. To be fair you kept them in it after that- being spit roasted by Benno seems a bit harsh though.

haha flip flop i imagine you were terrified NOT!

Don't worry I don't hold a grudge even when you started time wasting with 10 minutes to go, interestingly i'd played for the Reserves at Great Wakering the week before and we'd lost 16-0, that performance was a big improvement, You're right you're not the scariest reckon even Jenko would last a round with you .

I am loving this................. I have found another extraordinary HIgh Scoring League Record ... and of course it has to be STANSTED !

On January 23rd 1993, Stansted Reserves beat Southend Manor Reserves 12-1 and then, in the next match on 30th lost 2-10 to Hullbridge Sports Reserves . In the meantime on that very same day , the 30th January, the first team lost 0-9 at Basildon United...... fortunately Alan Russell took over and life settled down somewhat, but ......Stansted cannot escape these records !

League Chairman as you seem to be enjoying our scoring feats lately, there may be another record for you.

Today Dan Cornwall scored our first goal without a Sawbo player touching the ball and timed at OFFICIALLY 9 Secounds, is that the fastest goal this year ?
