Totton Away Train Details

As the big game gets nearer a few people have been asking what the plan is for Totton away.

Due to engineering works the best way to go is via Reading which means no group save action on the day.

If you want to save a few quid you can book in advance, we're planning on getting the 0946 from Reading which gets into Southampton just after 11. The 0857 from Windsor Central or 0906 from Slough will get you to Reading in ample time to get some breakfast and a four pack. On the way back there is a train that departs Southampton at 1938 which will get you back to Windsor via Reading and Slough at 2153.

I think there are buses between Basingstoke & eastleigh that weekend, check out south west trains website.

For those that don't know, you can walk from Totton station to the ground, but not next year if we are in the same league smilewinkgrin.gif

I'm guessing if Totton isnt great we'll have a few in southampton?

I'm susprised they are not putting on a football special train for this one! I'm sure people will be crawling out of the woodwork for this one.

  • 3 weeks later...

if you want a pint in Totton before you get to the ground, you could try The salmon leap, it is about a 5 minute walk on past the the ground. there are others, but not much else in walking distance worth a visit if you at all fussy !!

Thanks for the advice. To be honest we never used to be fussy but now we're older we've become a bit more snobbish when it comes to boozers!

I think we're planning to start off around the Town Quay in Southampton and then take it from there.

Ah, your going to see that well known tourist attraction - The Burnt Out Pier - dating back about 40 years !!

the new P & O cruise ship is in this week though, so you can stare at that floating block of flats !
