Princes Park

I think after all the hype built up around this stadium, i have to say it failed to impress me on my second visit. Sure it looks nice, but thats it. The ground has no atmosphere (mainly because the roof is about 5 miles above the terracing) and there is no character and tbh it's quite boring. The whole place is grey/white concrete with one side having black seats. There was 907 there tonight and the atmosphere really didn't suggest that, i know we don't have the best place in the world but we can build up a good atmosphere at hartsdown. It makes me laugh when i read on their forum that they liken Princess Park to Wembley/Old Trafford. Not sure where the arrogance comes from their supporters, they are not a big club and never have been. If they were they wouldn't be in the Ryman premier. I think i have found a club other then Ramsgate and Dover to well and truly hate. Also the only noise you hear from them is moans and people on here say we have moany supporters?

Have to agree that Princes Park is an awful ground, I'd be gutted if Hartsdown ever gets rebuilt and ends up looking anything like it. What the Darts ought to do to improve things is demolish three sides, getting rid of those nasty covered terraces and seats, and put a couple of porta cabins on one side and a flat pack stand on the other. The other end they could just leave open to the elements.

What you have to remember Jeff is that PP is a 'noughties' ground. HDP will be a 'Twenties' ground.

Well my first visit and very impressed, what was it "Dartford are not a big club"? well at the moment they are bigger than we are and that ground I would be quite happy to have, thanks very much. Am sure the players enjoy playing there. Thought the sign on the half way line was interesting "Provided by a conservative council" just goes to show it is not party politics that get these things done just needs a decent council of whatever persuasion and an honest relationship with the community. Something that perhaps our council couldlearn from.

Have to say I enjoy going to Princes Park - it's an unbeliveable stadium at our level and beyond. I'd also have a work for the officials and the epople that wopk / help out at the stadium. They all seem great people in my experience. OK, one or two fans got a bit carried away before our game there, but that's the same with most teams.

Just a temporary blip for them I'm sure. They'll be plying their trade in Blue Square South next season. I bet Dover can't wait ;)

Have to say i think its a good stadium. But a bit odd. I dont know who designed the main stand, there are hardly any seats in the centre and thats just silly really. Looks like they spent a lot of money but not that wisely.

But agree with Jeff T its a lot better than a load of portacabins and is one of the best NL grounds around...Personally though i prefer grounds like Bromley and Folkestone.

Very good !!! but im happy with having the new stadium that we get every six months. Not many teams can boast that! Tounge firmly in cheek !!!

My point being that although it does look like a nice place it's not very supporter friendly and a tries too be a premier league stadium in a small World and because of that there is no atmosphere or character. I prefer Hastings place to Princess Park. As for the big club comment, not club in this league is a big club. If you are a big club, you'll be in the conference premier. I don't think a club sponging of the council can class themselves as a big club. They claim to have the best stadium in non-league football when i've visited so many better places. I expected a lot better and after my first visit i thought i may have missed something, but no
