MARKS OUT OF TEN AT DARTFORD

Just for my twopenneth thought every player ran thier socks off last night,each and everyone contibuted to an immense performance, comparing that to the 4-0 drubbing we got at home, what a difference, the football we played was exellent and we are so much more of a proper football team now than we were then. I know one swallow doesnt make a summer but well it sure is spring time at the moment and if we continue to play like that we will surely win more then we lose. If there is a more skilful midfielder in this league than SJ well I havent seen him yet, yes it does hold on too long at times but he causes huge problems to the opposition. Ty I thought had a great game and the whole defence were magnificient. The last 15 minutes were unbearable and the players must have been aware of the joy of the supporters at the end of the game.

 

Great performance by all, great support too, now lets do it again !!!!

Its a good job his opinion counts for very little. Very similar to his understanding of football............... DS out of position, yes, but will still, unlike some, give his all for little return by comparison to many who whilst getting more give sod-all. Strange too that while he gives his all plus a bit more its only recognised by a few. Same old names talking academic bovine excretia as usual. Lets hope when he reads those comments that Dan treats them with the contempt they deserve. Just to clarify for your benefit when a player is told to 'man-mark' he is rendered less effective than he would normally be due to the nature of the restrictions imposed by the movement of his quarry. He must have done a better job than YOU have obviously given him credit for due to the fact that Dartfords main play maker, whome he was marking, was rendered far less effective by Stubbsies attention because they didnt win...................or even score from that players endeavours. I sometimes wonder why some players bother when they are so consitently side swiped particularly when fresh faces appear in a squad. In your defense you are not alone. That must be indicative of the type of person that supports football at this level. That is not directed at all of course, I have met some very sensible and less judgemental people with good football brains and more knowledge that you sir. It might be more beneficial and conducive to a more positive working environment if you were to keep your opinions to yourself when attempting to display your obviously less than sub-standard understanding of the beautiful game. I am sure DS would be impressed with your well structured perceptions and subsequent disection of his game tonight.

I dont think G.P. was being overly negotive against D.Stubbs, but i can hand on heart say, in the 11 or so years ive watched Margate i have NEVER seen anyone work so hard for the team. If half the team or managment had that at the start of the season we would not be at the bottom.

Having said that it's still going to be tough and tough for anyone in the bottom 6. We NEED to carry this form on as we proved last night that any team can win against anyone in this league. We must NOT get complacent, couldn't stress that enough. Boreham Wood is going to be an extremely tough game and the place still holds hurtful memories of our 6-1 defeat their after being 6/7 games unbeaten and Boreham Wood were finding wins hard to find, so expect no favours.

 

I thought our second-half performance was more then proffesional, but in the first half our performance was full of uncertainty & panic. Having said that Dartford to capitalise and on our whole performance as a team we deserved the win. We decided to sit back and hope to catch them on a break and it worked and watching their defence, i think if we pressured them more we would have scored more especially when you consider their keeper looked out of place in this league. Although i don't think our hit and hope tactics will work against Boreham Wood, i feel we are going to have to keep hold of the ball and work it forward (we have the players to do this).
