Just got in and I'm still grinning!

What a superb team performance tonight. Every single player in a blue shirt gave it everything they had.

11 points taken from the last 15, bloody good going.

Bring on Boreham Wood.

I think if i was to give marks out of 10 for effort from both players and supporters I would give 10 to every single person. A tremendously hearty performance from the lads. Who needs a team full of locals to show heart for the team, when you have a group of players who clearly showed today that they want to do well for the team. My voice is knackered, awesome celebrations when we scored and at the final whistle aswell (I counted about 16 heart attacks during these periods). The players should be extremely proud of themselves after tonight.

Also tonights win was the first time i had seen margate win in nearly a year and tonights game was my first away match since we went to Dartford last season and won 1-0. Definately worth the wait, although the last few minutes were agonizing, i think i was the only supporter in the ground who decided to turn my back to the game for their 3 consecutive corners and their free kick. My heart hates me at the moment, but that can sod off for all i care. UP THE GATE!!!!!

Geoff - Think you're a little unfair on Stubbsy , he is playing out of position and for most of the 2nd half he was playing 'on a yellow', so had to refrain from some tackles. His 'One Tremendous Shot' did beat the keeper and hit the post - an inch or so to the right and it would have saved us the agony of those last 10 minutes.

Its a good job his opinion counts for very little. Very similar to his understanding of football............... DS out of position, yes, but will still, unlike some, give his all for little return by comparison to many who whilst getting more give sod-all. Strange too that while he gives his all plus a bit more its only recognised by a few. Same old names talking academic bovine excretia as usual. Lets hope when he reads those comments that Dan treats them with the contempt they deserve. Just to clarify for your benefit when a player is told to 'man-mark' he is rendered less effective than he would normally be due to the nature of the restrictions imposed by the movement of his quarry. He must have done a better job than YOU have obviously given him credit for due to the fact that Dartfords main play maker, whome he was marking, was rendered far less effective by Stubbsies attention because they didnt win...................or even score from that players endeavours. I sometimes wonder why some players bother when they are so consitently side swiped particularly when fresh faces appear in a squad. In your defense you are not alone. That must be indicative of the type of person that supports football at this level. That is not directed at all of course, I have met some very sensible and less judgemental people with good football brains and more knowledge that you sir. It might be more beneficial and conducive to a more positive working environment if you were to keep your opinions to yourself when attempting to display your obviously less than sub-standard understanding of the beautiful game. I am sure DS would be impressed with your well structured perceptions and subsequent disection of his game tonight.

FOOTNOTE; dont take up management will you.

Mammoth effort from everyone tonight. Some heart in mouth moments, but JT in goal was immense. Solid on crosses and held on to the long range shots they threw at him. Ty and Jay ran the midfield and as such Dartford were rapidly running out of ideas. Just hope Ty's injury isn't too serious. The man gives Jay tremendous support in the middle.

Thought the ref was quite fair overall. He missed an obvious corner in the first few minutes when their keeper tipped a Jay header over, and seemed to go with the crowd on a few 50/50s early on but he evened it out over the 93 minutes. First 45 Dartford were very physical and had the better of it but second half we fully deserved the three points for carving them open twice, plus the Stubbs volley that hit the post. Terrific technique on the volley, the ball had snow on it and it was at least 30 yards out.

Our lads did us proud. As for marks. 10 out of 10 for all. It was clear to me anyway that they ALL gave everything tonight. The wing backs in particular were put under a lot of pressure and dealt with it as Dartford tried overloading. As the game wore on, we were looking more and more dangerous. Work rate - immense.

Onwards to Boreham Wood. Let's keep the great escape rolling on.

WHAT A PERFORMANCE FROM THE TEAM - 110% from everyone, including the supporters.

Never seen so many tense faces and extremes of emotion among us fans during a game, and never seen so many huge grins after the game.

WELL DONE THE TEAM - OUTSTANDING, EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU!

Thanks Ronks 41. The score was on reflection was very harsh. I should have taken into account the fact your son was playing out of position. The performance from the whole team was great. I'll leave the scoring of players to someone else in future. In fairness to you you made some very informed comments without being inflamortary. I'll stick to my day job. Thanks for that. Up the Gate.

What a win.... still can't quite get over it. Overall, we thoroughly deserved the win: created 3 golden opportunities (Jones in the first half, the goal and another one of Pinns in the second half), plus the superb effort from Stubbsy. Can't really remember Dartford creating any chances - almost all of their efforts came from speculative long range efforts, dealt with comfortably by JT in goal. So many good performances throughout the team - it really was a very professional away win. So satisfying to keep a clean sheet as well!

Well done lads - the great escape really is on now. Saturday can't come quick enough, although I imagine, as CE says, the Wood will provide more of a test than the 'champions-elect'.

Well, normally a positive guy I was deflated after Saturdays loss of two very valuable & crucial points & I felt depressed & let down.

I still believe the loss of those 2 points may come back to haunt us....... BUT................................. what a magnificent win last night.

Raised my spirits no-end.They didnt let ANY of us down last night.

Whilst in this form & if we can maintain it,we may still make further headway & who knows we may yet survive the drop.

But lets keep those feet on the ground because there's still a mountain to climb & still a few hard games to play but many thanks to those players out there who gave me hope once again.

Now,as for points for every player, I didnt NEED to be there (though I wish I was), as I reckon every player deserves a full mark compliment for just winning the game alone. The result alone, the scoreline, tells me everything I want to know. Keeping a clean sheet in the process was a bonus.

Very very well done to them all & may the fight back continue and well done to the supporters that could make it & gave the players an uplift.

As I said I wish I could have been there & to celebrate with you all but celebrating I surely am today like everyone else.

Tomorrow though we begin again to try to achieve the "great escape" because last nights magnificent achievement wont alone be enough but it sure was a massive booster..

I may have dropped my head temporarily but I'm so impressed & so glad that the players didnt follow suit & did differently.

Pulling together?? Yes my words & shamefully I let the everyone down but I'm back on track now thanks to last nights efforts & back on track later tonight too might I add,work-wise.

A good night & an even better Wednesday.

Thank you Margate players & to I.O too. SUPER!! :applaus: :applaus:

The point is Tony is if we had taken 3 points on Saturday and lost tonight would you feel any different. Out of those two matches you would probably settled for three points. Well we got 4 so we don'y be a killjoy! lol

Cookie does have a point though-it would have been better to have beaten carlshalton and taken a point last night.

similarly-i guess most of us would take 4 points from next 2 games-but of those-again its more important to win at carlshalton than at BW.

Its a douible blow if you take points off your fellow struggglers.

Personally, i think the cray away game is the game which will come back to haunt us most.

Overall-we have not done well against our 'peer' teams in the bottom 8 and thats what could haunt us at seasons end.

that given-maybe ,just maybe ,we can get 6 points from BW and then at carlshalton

Killjoy?? I think you misunderstood my post Andy.

Im being apologetic & at the same time handing out masses amount of praise.I'm also trying to be realistic.

In answer to your question yes 3 points v Carshalton & none against Dartford I would have more than happy to have taken beforehand. Why? Well seeing as you brought it up Carshalton would have been a point worse off had we beaten them & we would have been another two points better off with them, what with them being one of the teams we are targetting.(and others around us)

But,hey,4 points far & away exceeds my wishes & of course I am ectastic we got them. Im elated that the lads achieved them which ever way round they got them but before last nights game did you REALLY honestly believe we were going to get such a good result like we did last night.

Now leave me alone & let me got on with this humble pie will you. Its going cold :icon29:, and oh,stop killing my joy! ;)
