Help for Heroes at New Lodge - Bank Holiday Monday

The Brightside Six will officially launch their 100 Mile Thames Rowing Event for Help for Heroes on Bank Holiday Monday.

 

Billericay Town FC will play host to your good selves on the day in what has become for us a top local derby.

 

Please support our wounded troops by putting a few pence in the H4H buckets & Tins dotted around the Bar & ground

 

The Evening will have a top local band and lot's of sporting prize's to auction off.

Please forgive me for taking space on your forum but I just wanted to let you know the guys that are doing this are very modest, what they are doing really is something quite special.

 

Its a 100 mile non-stop row and will take an expected 24 hours.

 

They launch at Leigh on Sea, row out to Southend Pier where the challenge begins, from there they row non stop to Windsor, twice rowing against the Tide..

When they set off from Southend they will be rowing against the tide until Gravesend (ish)

 

This is a sea going vessel so it has considerable weight and 4 of the six man crew have never rowed before.

Is the game in doubt then,i think the weather in the next 24 hours isn't too bad although we may see the odd shower

No doubt from here the pitch looks good to go. But the way things have been going of late anything can happen. Two games on the trot have been called off.

 

 

Were expecting it to be sunny on our side of the street.

Looking at the weather there is the odd shower around today but nothing too heavy,a bit of consistant rain tomorrow morning but should clear mid morning for sunshine & cloud
