Talking of rumours, a little bird informed me recently, that Hullbridge were given short shrift having approached another Step 5 side re a potential ground share, as their park pitch was/is about to get the heave ho back to the Olympian league.

I am sure you can clarify this Coachie.

PS My Italian Big Fib detector has now been switched on..

Three weeks ago, looking at the worst scenario, and few possible options in case our work on the ground couldn't be completed , on behalf of our club I approached two ESL Clubs asking if they would have considered ground-sharing for the following season and how much it would have cost. One of them(their chairman) replied that it wouldn't have been possible due to the number of teams playing on it,while the other one(club secretary) said they would have looked at it and get back to me.Thing they did and came up with an estimated cost for the entire league fixtures. They also added that they would have needed a reply by the 14th of this month. While all this was going on our committee(after having had assurances from our management team about their fully committment to the cause for next season)decided with bravery to go ahead with the ground grading work and a reply was sent to that club stating that we thanked them for their help but we wouldn't have taken up the offer. I have to say that it was a good gesture from that club and also adding that the League has been and is very helpful in assisting our club in making sure we retain our senior status. The same cannot be said about the various organizations we applied for grants to help towards the cost of building a stand and all the rest.Dear Mr Brooking,it's all good stuff in the paper but non-league clubs like us that represents a rural community of 8000 people get only the breadcrumbs or nothing at all like in our case...

That's all Coup, all in black and white. :coffee (2):

So you can now go back to your constituency and prepare for Step 7. :Kick_Can_emoticon:

Just the fence to go then. And remember, Roma die uno non aedificata est....

Fence and another turnstile(we bought 2 from CUFC Layer road ground auction) are not the things required as it was stated in the first place.Dug-outs at certain distance from half-way line...working in progress.According the grants organizations we are a club that can self-finance itself!!!!
