Thanks for the darts invite for Sat'dy

Matt posted on Ciren forum t'other week, wondering if any of us would be up for a darts match before the game Sat'dy. Sadly, no real enthusiasm for it but thanks for the invitation. Nice touch.

 

Had a word with the usual travellers at the last couple of away games and basically the answer was (a) we get off the coach and go for a look at the town / find some scran then find a place to have a few scoops. Add to that the couple of lads who travel by train and the pair who like to use National Express plus the folks who prefer to drive their tractors down the M4 and it was always going to be unlikely! We usually also have a few London based exiles who will come to matches in / near the Great Wen.

 

Sorry about that - I understand there will be a few in the ale house just outside the ground before the match, The Stag if I remember rightly. If any of youse cheerful lot are looking to say hullo and discover how truly abysmal we are at the moment and how lucky youse were to rob us back then plus we can swap stories about duff refs maybe we can do without the darts? You do realise we shall be so laid back we'll probably nick it ....... arf.

The Stag and Hounds is no more. It never really recovered from the time the ceiling got damaged in the post match celebrations of a derby match we had!

 

If you go 500 yards down the road heading out of town there is the Prince Albert which does food. Or you could try The Fawn but it's a place i'd avoid at all costs!! If you just want a pub to get a pint in the Duke of York is now the closest. It's the one with the Trotters car on it!

 

I hope you travel in a car with a sunroof... We didnt on the trip to yours...Wonderful weather for it! Let's hope its not as windy on saturday!
