Making progress

It seems to me that over the last couple of years the teams that have made good progress, namely Dover last year and it looks like Dartford this year, attract larger gates leading to better players leading to more success. Football clubs in Margates position find it harder to pay better players wages due to lower gates. I know this is obvious, but if all the people who stay away from games saying " I dont like seeing my team lose all the time" started going to games again, perhaps the money generated will lead to a stronger team and more success, bigger gates, better players and so on. What comes first, the chicken or the egg.

Dover are successful because their chairman has pumped money in. Dartford had their local council build a new ground for them. If we had that kind of assistance we would also be successful.

Hammy, I still think that in this league you will buy success, Margate are still paying decent wages so we will get the occasional decen player. A lot depends on the manager and his contacts and also if you are winning games you'll get the crowds through the gates. I know that this season we have struggled to get a team to gel but if we keep our manager now , for a long period we should progress. As for the new stand beig published today ,this can only give us much needed advertising when it is finally built. If the team then continue to make progress we will soon be back in the conference which is where we belong. UP THE GATE!!!!!
