It's a shame Codicote didn't get to the Final instead of Wormley, they would have put on a better showing but congratulations to London Colney

Thank you for congratulations, but how do you work that Codicote would have been better opponents, Wormley beat Codicote 3-0 in the semi final

Wisezola - I just think Codicote would have been better equipped to deal with London Colney last night that's all, Wormley clearly knew they were a beaten side before they set foot on the hallowed County Ground turf. I was quite surprised by the crowd of 186, was that more than you were expecting.

Because one of his "heroes" is now managing Codicote

Horace - I just think that Paul Tompkins would have masterminded a better performance from Codicote last night than Wormley managed

Not sure what we were really expecting crowd wise, if I am honest thought there may be a few more. I think we were more concerned about winning the first trophy for the club for a while.

With the good cup runs in the Vase and FA Cup, the cup runs and weather have really squeezed our season, there is still the divisional cup final v Hoddesden, a challenge semi final against Brimsdown and a Herts charity semi v St Margetsbury to go, but our real focus has to be promotion, hopefully with one won, we can have a good go on all fronts.

I see there is a report of the game on the another's Forum:

London Colney 4 Wormley Rovers 0

Herts FA Senior Centenary Trophy Final.

(At the Herts County FA Ground, Letchworth)

Admission £5 inc Programme

Attendance : 150 – 200 (approx)

Tea : £1

Another mild evening weather wise ( I could get used to this! ) and a relatively entertaining game as well.

Ground was spick and span as you would expect for County FA headquarters. Good sized stand on the tea hut / bar side of the ground, covered raised standing along the far side and adequate and quite unique covered terracing up the grassy banks behind each goal.

Programme was the usual Cup Final fare, a little bit lacking in soul but all the facts were there. Game itself was a disappointment in a way, although there were plenty of goals. It was just too one sided to really grab the attention as a Final, Wormley despite their fabulous current league record in the Herts Senior County League offered absolutely nothing going forward for the entire 90 minutes and their defence always struggled to cope with the slick passing and the pace that London Conley had at their disposal.

2 Nil at half time, swiftly became 3 immediately after the break and a fabulous 4th goal by the Colney No 10 from outside the box finished things off, although he could have completed his hat trick moments from time but his penalty came back off the post.

All in all the most one sided cup final I have seen in a long time, which must have been a disappointment to the Wormley players and fans alike
