League

Barkingside 1 ( 1-1) 2 London Apsa

Chris Stowe 3m Att 71 Gregory Akpele 34m Tim Cole 50m

Bethnal Green United 6 ( 1-0 ) 1 Sawbridgeworth Town

Ainsley Gaspar 36m (Pen): 80m (Pen) Att 34 Jamie Whitbread 85m (Pen)

Anton Stephenson 50m 65m 70m

Grant Harbingi 89m

Enfield 1893 2 ( 0-2) 4 Stansted

Jerry Nkrumah 63m Billy Healy 66m Att 101 Dwight Gayle 13m 88m Vinny Durrant 16m John Bricknell 80m

Not good news,

Bethnal Green won,

Sawbo now out of race with that defeat...

Barkingside lost one of their four games in hand,

Enfield lose to the arrogant ones.

but worst of all the knob jockeys from "the two sides to our ground" stansted top with a 4.2 win over rivals Enfield.

Ten points behind the panel beaters. Any team but them PLEASE. If we can't do it ... ANYONE ELSE.

Can I have a cheeky cockle on Takeley? Is Brad Walsh playing for yet too?

Brad has played a couple of times for us (away at the moment).

Not sure if its a cheeky cockle, more shrewd me thinks, Takeley very good side and will be there or thereabouts.

Answer: Change the "R" to a "C" to make

"Cant"

Do you get the idea, now one for you..

Clue : The players who kicks advertizing boards is this.;) * & Dednats.

We used to sing that to Red Triangle FC in the Romford and district league back in the late 60s..... :Kick_Can_emoticon:

Poor banter from the Witham side, personally would love to hate Stansted after my dealings with the club, but can't begrudge them their achievements this year. Stansted Management have always been complimentary towards us in recent games and showed no arrogance at all even in victory. Ironically calling them arrogant seems a back handed compliment as one of the major qualities needed to win so i'm sure Never Been won't be losing sleep over it.

Whilst it won't erase my own views on Stansted if they accumalate more points than all other teams then they deserve to win the league and good luck to them it's as simple as that, very good Coach and excellent Manager but a long way to go yet.

Agree 100 percent as much as it pains me, Stansted will win the league.

There is no escaping when they don't win, they dont behave correctly.

A player blatantly refusing to shake hands with an opponent is arrogant.

The people who run it must be lazy as they have been in this league since formation, they have not even tried to improve the ground. They should look at Takeley & Southend Manor to see how to run a club.

You mention the banter, Dednats can only result to name calling... : "Twat" which he has used more than thrice, hardly imaginative.

Hope the FA keep to their threat on grounds, i think i will drop them a reminder.

Trust me they are the last club i'd want to defend so this is Ironic, to be fair the ground has been smartened up a lot since my day and it is clear an effort has been made behind the scenes. Like most clubs including our own it is far from perfect but they do battle against constraints such as sharing with a cricket club etc for which sometimes exceptions have to be made. Hard to say the whole club is arrogant because one player doesn't shake hands but entitled to your opinion.

Don't realy want to comment further , just an impartial view.

I have always liked going to Stansted (hope I don't have to go again though - in the nicest possible sense). Yes their ground is not the best and the cricket thingy is problematical for them.

But like a few grounds in the ESL, would suffer under strict ground grading rules for Step 5 methinks. I'm not saying that is a good idea, as personally, I think ground grading at that level sucks, with little or no common sense applied.

It's great to see a few new faces at the top of the ESL this season and it's made for a more exciting league, with no less than seven sides still with a chance of taking the title.

stansted have a shocking pitch and changing rooms, ( i remember one year having to hold a plastic cup under the shower to catch the drips so i could wash myself !!) , but their clubhouse is quality , and the manager Terry is a quality bloke. My mate had him as manager at Frenford and said how good he was there , and I saw it first hand when we went to play stansted in the esl. Nice bloke , and would be a reward for his hard work if they were to go and win it .

Dan I agree with everything you said.To me Stansted and Enfield were the best football sides seen this year and I'll be delighted if the Airport men win it.In reply to Witham accusations I can only say....well....I wish we could play them every week!!! :dance (2):

Stansted are the best team BGU have played this season and i predicted at the start of the season they where my fav for the league, good manager and his assitant nice blokes has well and its in there hands now.

Some nice comments from people we respect, however the title race is far from over with at least 6 sides still in with a good chance of wiining it.

Forthcoming month will be very interesting to see how teams cope with, injuries, suspensions and pressure.

Here's hoping

I can only echo the sentiments expressed on here complimenting Stansted FC. The team is always competitive without, in general, overstepping the mark, and the management duo are two of the most down to earth and decent blokes in the league.

Their opinion of me lessened considerably, mind, when I spread news over the tannoy of Spurs conceding goals, so I can also vouch for their capacity to swear loudly across a football pitch.

I'd be genuinely pleased if Stansted won the ESL.

Had a massive bite at that game, would like to think I've calmed down since but in reality probably not.lol

I would state however that Terry probably hates Spurs as much as WAFC hates Stansted and he would not be best pleased of being iin the same statement as me regarding the mighty THFC.

by the way thanks for refraining from winding me up when we played Manor.
