But where have the crowds gone,i know local pubs were showing the west ham game yesterday and this obviously had a small effect on the poor crowd at the bridge.

I know crowds are down across the leagues but i don't accept that our crowds are down that much because of the financial climate,i am sure it may have a little effect but we are 100 plus down on a couple of seasons ago,i know there are people who still post on here and you hardly ever see them at games, not knocking them but why are they not coming to games. We are in a healthy position in the league and are in the Essex cup final,we have had some exciting games this season as well as some crap ones but its no different from other seasons

It's the same with us mate. In our first season in Ryman One North we were getting crowds of over 350 a week against teams with no away support and we hardly set the league alight that season finishing just outside the play offs.

This season, we've been lucky to get anything above this even against sides who have brought some decent support.

In the last couple of years we've lost around 70 to 80 supporters off our average crowd.

When chatting with my mate from just north of us, who we dumped out of the Essex Senior Cup on Tuesday night.

Dont know whether anyone had heard of that result, as no match report has appeared on their site or on the Esex FA site shame on you.

But their gates are down on average 400 compared with last season.

So we are just reflecting what is happening to everyone else.

Once again they are discussing our threads on the romford forum,my how obsessed we are with them

Not at all bobby who could for a second think you were obsessed with Romford!

I was on the 86 bus earlier today, travelling past Westlands. I looked out of the window and, to my surprise, I could see no fencing around the site for Romford's proposed new ground.

When I got back to my office I looked on the "Borobonanza" website. It would appear that, since Xmas Eve last year they have managed to raise enough money for 21 fence panels. They need 460. By my reckoning, they should have accumulated enough dosh to build a fence by May 2015. Then they can concentrate on raising the money for the ground I suppose.

Well done Romford.

Gone but not forgotten.

They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Personally, I think they're aiming a little bit too high.

I assume the fence is to stop people leaving early?

Thought I'd post this "it's indefensible". And don't know whether boarding the 86 is a wise thing.

If takes a few years to get things sorted then so be it.

Somehow, I would think that if any fiscal advice was needed, then the RM14 quarter of the Borough would be our last port of call.

North of £25k a week in wages on crowds of 500 - and the Pied Piper came back and got sloppy seconds too.

As Charles Colson famously once said: "When you've got 'em by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow."

Tortoise 1 Hare 0.

PS Try sitting on the upper deck ( )of the bus in future.. you might be pleasantly surprised.

All kinds of artwork undertaken, especially for football programmes, leaflets, magazine work etc etc. Finished PDFs supplied. Very competitive rates.

Always in the market to purchase football programme collections. Preferably pre-1970 but anything considered. Have thousands of non-league for sale. Just drop me a PM re anything related to the above

Must have fat fingers to have hit the "s" rather than the "c" in "desk/deck". Or have I missed a deeper meaning. I'll desk you, perhaps?

I was always of the impression that deep down, there was a mutual repect between Carbuncle Urchin and Zody.. then again I could be wrong.. have been on the rare occasion...

Every club has their own personal cocccccccccccccccck.. some more than others .. hi Chins..

its easy to be solvent at the bottom of the ryman one north, although when you have the demands of the bigger leagues, more fans etc etc it does become more difficult, but lets face it,the club in its present guise is actually in good shape under the leadership of mcbride et al.what with them and the supporters club i would bet that the debts are way less than a year ago.And to top it,our off field facilities are doing roaring trade

Consolidation was always the aim for this season. Romfords problem this year was all those Ryman ruffians getting our players sent off,for no apparent reason. I would think that next season we are almost certain to be champions, so we can start the 2011/2012 season at Westlands.

Which begs the question. Are you going to erect those fence panels as and when you have the money to buy them or will you wait until you have enough cash to buy the whole lot at once? And what about the weather boards, would hate to see those much vaunted fence panels rot.i

Never miss a match if I can help it.

While it was a bad day at the office, it wont have any bearing on what league RFC will be playing in next year.

Relegation is not a word thats even mentioned now, and funny enough nor is administration, unless we are talking about other downmarket clubs.

This afternoon Brentwood Town (sorry AFC Hornchurch legends) beat Romford 4-0 with goals from Kris Lee,Joe Stevens and Ben boyce.

I would like to add my comisserations to the romford fans who must of sat through this thinking that nightmare on elm street had just been played out to them. Can i just wish them the best for the rest of the season and hope that this is back page news in the recorder on Friday

RFC,forever in our shadows

Won't be on the back page seeing as they lost. It'll be with UPR, Barn Sports and the other youth footy. No offence intended to the lads bracketing them with the boro'. At least the youngsters can get better.

And they probably have their own home pitches.

Hi Rob

Know why you're still up, I'm still debating asking to be sponsored to stay away from all further matches as I've missed the last three wins, last match I saw was Canvey. Have a collection and I'll stay home Thursday.

Taken from romfords forum

We lost 4-3 today afterbeing 2-0 and 3-1 up.

The turning point was Finny(GK) hitting the ball into touch to get treatment, Ware take a short throw and then lob Finny who is expecting the ball to be returned to him.

From the restart most of the Ware team were prepared to allow Romford through on goal to equal things out, except one Ware player who put in a tackle to stop the contrived goal.

I hope Ware can live with themselves tonight

UP THE BORO!

Shame, its a bloody shame, perhaps we could give the ware player who made the tackle a special award

Romford lost three points which was unfortunate, but the big losers was Ware, and football in general.

Cheating comes in many forms and many people consider spending money you don't have, and then going into administration and leaving behind a trail of debt a form of cheating.

Not cheating, more like murder. Arsenal buying their way into Division One at Tottenham's expense in 1919... now that's what I call cheating.

I remember watching the Collier Row Oilers play Chelmsford something or other at Sungate many years ago when gridiron was in its early days on telly. Got so bored that when it started snowing my son and I went home. Must have been about 35 years ago? There was a little old lady supporting Chelmsford and she was continually chanting "deeefence, deeefence"

Seems this low life trawls our forum looking for misdemeanours and then reports them back to their cozy little forum at romturd

'Anyone notice their goalkeeping coach hiding behind their goal, giving advice?

Quick question - why didn't everybody go down to the clubhouse corner to annoy their keeper?'

Just something I have read at 7.24am this morning from another club not to far from here and from a club official

Pillock!!!

Someone on the AFCH FFF has got hold of Jon's original post on this thread and it has been reproduced with their usual juvenile comments. We have a mole on this forum and when I find him he is GONE as there is no place for moronic idiots like him.

No need to worry about Romford, but thanks for your concern anyway.

Pillock!!!

Not much official spokesman, this is your latest rant from Mr Barry "i get no sex" Morgan

Someone on the AFCH FFF has got hold of Jon's original post on this thread and it has been reproduced with their usual juvenile comments. We have a mole on this forum and when I find him he is GONE as there is no place for moronic idiots like him.

This is the same barry who not 8 months ago sat, chatted, drank with me up london with fletch, shook my hand when i arrived, shook it again when i departed and now slags me off at every available opportunity because i dared wind you lot up a bit when you have been doing the same to us for years.

The only reason I can think of for anyone from our glorious club to contribute to FFF is because its too cold to work in the garden at this time of the year, and TV is crap these days.
