All the relevant stuff has been covered on here. Loss of form in many players. Introduction of new players upsettiing the rhythm of the team. No apparent leadership anywhere when we are playing.

 

Rotation may be great for United or Chelsea who have players who can adapt to different styles but it's unreasonable to expect our level players to have that ability. So one week we have two short strikers, the next two tall strikers, the next week only one striker, then three. We need to my mind to have a settled system which players can slot into. Bringing in players half way through a season should be a last resort - the squad should essentially be right in August.

 

However we now have twelve league games left. We can forget the three games against the other play off teams - anything we get there is a bonus. In last seasons Midland division Chesham finished fifth with 76 points. so to emulate that we need to win six from nine. We have Aylesbury, Beaconsfield, Barton and Bromsgrove who are all struggling so they are must wins. Which leaves us two wins to find. Rothwell have plummetted down the division so we have a chance there. So a win at home to either Arlesey or Atherstone puts us there or thereabouts.

 

I think that Duncan and Seeby are signings primarily for next season not this. SB is a good manager and wanted to make an impact this season, so he brought in players he knew. For whatever reason some of these have let him down - maybe they do think that this level is below them. I expect to see quite a different team next season - maybe the players involved realise that and that accounts for our underperforming "stars".
