First game of the season and lots of new faces in the side along with some familiar ones.

 

Barrie Fox gave us the lead after 15 minutes with a well driven shot into the roof of the net and Steve West scored his first goal in Hornchurch colours 12 minutes later, ducking to head in a cross from Craig Cripps (?). Then, just before half time Chris Stowe finished well to make it 3-0.

 

Basildon had more resolve in the second half and after 23 minutes it was 3-3. We got our noses in front again with 15 minutes to go through Andy Finlay and Keith Rowlands wrapped things up with 10 minutes to go to make it 5-3.
