Great Wakering 0 Billericay Town 2

Recommended Posts

I thought Trenkel played all-right and if anything looked like he may have been trying a little too hard. Way to early to start to making judgements just yet (give it another game at least). Gaz, Andy Jones was the short guy up-front with a streak of peroxide in his hair, started the second half. Played for us about 10 years ago.

Pretty good all round I thought, a lot of good youngsters out there with bags of potential. Certainly think most, if not all deserve another chance to impress on Saturday. We looked good in attack, bit iffy in defense but you always do pre-season. Agree with most of what's above, perhaps another 1 or 2 experienced heads wouldn't go amiss but other than that things are definately looking up.

Oh and I forgot the lighter side of last night which isn't all football but the footie burger and food fare.

I can safly say the the pre season burger training woz in full swing (as woz the pre season "abusing the ref") and that if (and I can only rate burgers in the Ryman Premier League when the season starts - sorry Great Wakering) last night woz a competitive league game, a 7 (out of 10) for the cheese burger and a 9 for the chips (the chips were proper chips and good value for the £1 as well).

I shall be keeping a record of all food fare at Ryamn Premier games (I shall go where no taste bud has gone before!!!) and a league table to be produced over the season.

Not too sure I will be brave enough to try the Canvey Sewer Burger but hey, I hope their torpedo rolls in the bar will be available 'cos last time I woz there they were tasty, washed down, of course, with a pint of Flowers bitter.

For this coming season, that will taste all the sweeter, as we beat them at their ground 3 - 0.....la, la, la, la, la,, la!!!!

yep a satisfactory outing with nice weather and a chance to look at plenty of players. those triallists that caught the eye for me were jean marie okita (centre fwd 1st half) and marlon patterson (left side 2nd half. of the established/signed players i thought gary henty had a decent half and leon hunter showed up quite well second half. the whole point of these games is to try out triallists/players/positions etc so it makes sense to emphasise the good things and not to worry too much about the less good at this stage. expect to see justin giving himself a run out on saturday and plenty more triallists i would suggest.

I think some of you were being a little too harsh to Mr Trenkle. The first game in front of your new fans is always going to put pressure on you, but couple that with that the fact he was also playing iin front of his old fans, it must have been harder - particulary if he enjoyed his time there and was liked by the crowd.

But as for you Gazza...(And after the compliment I gave on our forum <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />).

Grrr.... <img src="/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
