Player of the year

With 4 games left at home it is getting to the time of year when the player of the year has to be chosen and this year it is exceedingly difficult.

Rob Blackburne - after some hesitant displays in the middle of the season, has come back to his commanding best and must be amongs the players elligible for consideration.

Stuart Blackburne - following his long lay off for injury is also coming into the better form of before his injury.

Liam Hope - has been consistently taking chances.

Andy Jones - if he is not player of the year must be considered as the most improved player as he has lost that petulant attitude which spoilt his game in other seasons and the early part of this year.

Chris Wild - can you give a PoY award to a player who has left the club? Only 12 appearances but a formidable 12 appearances

Sam Byfield - usually gives 100%.

Adam Wallace - At this time he gets my vote but the competition is tight and he has to maintain his impressive displays if he is not going to be pipped by one of the others (except Chris Wild of course).

Can't believe Mark Kirby hasn't had a mention there, I think he's been superb at the back after his first couple of games in Midfield. He's positionally excellent, rarely loses a header, is a good talker and knows when to clear it, and when to play from the back. I thought that we'd really miss Chris Wild, but in Kirby we have a more than capable replacement. Thought he had another excellent game last night too, and must have been close to MoM himself.

Also agree with kirby deff getting in with a shout! Has been brillent for us at the back and thinking about results we have only lost 2 or maybe 3 with him there! Supurb player in my eyes! Wallace and hope are in for a shout! Think r Blackburn is up there to!! Should be very interesting to see who gets it!

Agree Steph - it's nice to see us playing as a team again, after last season, which was pretty painful at times. Even if we don't secure promotion, I think that this season has been a resounding success in terms of players attitude, commitment and team spirit. There were too many hardworking, big performances last night to mention all of them, and that's been the case in all the games I've been to recently. It seems that our players really do want to get their heads down and work for the club, and I think how we defended for the last 30 minutes yesterday epitomised that. Lots of positives, although Saturday is going to be very tough, especially coming 2 days after such a hard fought win...

It's nice to be thinking why so many should win it rather than so many who shouldn't. :signthankspin:

Rudi Hall, Craig Mckay and Paul Marks would be in the running for player of the year too in my opinion. Rudi is 2nd top scorer and adds a lot to the team. Craig Mckay been very consistent and has formed a great partnership with Kirby. Paul Marks has worked hard in midfield and has scored some important goals.

Fabio Valenti deserves a mention too and played some brilliant football earlier in the season before injury - he has struggled to get into a winning side but could still be important in the run in.

So many good players and there seems to be a great team spirit - well done Steve, Del and their team - looking forward to some entertaining games in the next few weeks.
