Sorry coup, you are wrong on this one, harlow fully expected crowds in excess of 500 in the ryman prem, the fact their crowds were so low is a small part of their problems, why build a new gorund with a nice big stand if you are expecting 2-300 each week, that in itself don't add up.some fans talked of bigger crowds but these were on the proviso they done well.

The excitement when Romford come home will be immense, because everyone connected with the club will make sure it is.

The manager and players will do their utmost to keep the momentum going, and our attendances should at least treble, to begin with, and I would expect a steady ongoing increase as the club progresses up the pyramid. I would also expect the Romford factor to have an adverse effect on AFCHs gates, with neutral spectators attracted by something new and exciting. Its dog eat dog out there and one clubs success will always have an adverse effect on local rivals.

Face facts, you're not Chelmsford City. There will be no great homecoming. The first game or two may attract some floating voters but it is unlikely that you will sustain it.

When we were playing in the Conference South we were getting 600-800 through the gates and when the problems came they dropped away.

Naturally at the first sign of a league club in the FA Cup, they all poured out of the woodwork but that's to be expected.

Good luck getting your new ground built but don't expect miracles. People would rather watch football on Sky and ESPN.

Nah, can't be ar$ed anymore.. I'll check with Companies House when the accounts have been filed.. :cheesy (2):

"Watched your success on the pitch with horror" - I do think that if this a man thing and we are comparing what's been in our respective Trophy cabinets from '92 to date, then you will discover that we are a teensy weensy bit ahead on the accumulative silverware front.

Ah, the price of success - oh sh!t, I alluded to the 'M' word again.. :dance (2):

A few wins against Ilford Catholic in the Evergreen Easter charity cup does not constitute silverware. Now if there was a DVD going about showing some wins from games over fifty years ago that would something, :biglaugh:

Thankfully my diet started yesterday, but I can categorically say, that none of our player's trophies are, or have ever been, on sale in the club shop...

And nor should they be as they probably had to buy them themselves :biglaugh:

OfficialSpokesman - Are you for real?? I have been following all this on here (most of which is franlky nonsense on all fronts) in the

last few weeks, but having seen what you have written I felt I had to post??

Now, I didn't/don't have a lot of sympathy for Hornchurch's situation as BB knows, but to be fair, at least now they are trying to run

things as a non league club should be run. You on the other and seem to be taking the moral high ground about debts, people running

the Club etc. Is this not a bit rich coming from a Romford fan??

This is the same Romford FC who "merged" with Collier Row back in the 90s, effectively taking their ground and assets before losing the Collier Row part of the name two years later. This is the same Romford FC whose "staff" and others bullied a man by the name of Mr Ansell (secretary of Collier Row at the time) and banned him from Collier Row's ground towards the end of their last season. The same Romford FC who were owned/run by a man named Mr Goodwin (I believe that was his name) in the 90s after the merger, and Mr Goodwin was, shall we say, an interesting character!!

Along with all this, as some people on here have pointed out, this is the same Romford FC who took 14 years to reform in the 80s/90s and yet still like to harp on about their glorious past to anyone who is interested (not many!!).

So if I was you, I would get down off your pedestal and get back in the real world!!!

Why let the facts get in the way of a good story. Most of the post was complete nonsense, and for someone who gives his location as "the moon" to tell me to get back in the real world, is just priceless.

Mmmm, glad to see you got the irony OS!!!

I take it as you have not answered any of the points you don't want to share the facts with us??

No probs Moonman, the merger was made at the instigation of Collier Row FC, and I have to say I am struggling to think of any assets that were worth preserving at Sungate, the place was a dump.

There was certainly never any bullying , and nor was anyone ever banned, to the best of my knowledge.

The Collier Row part of the name was dropped after one year, not two,and yes, its fair to say that Mr Goodwin was an interesting character, but he was no worse than many other rich men that get involved with football clubs.

Lastly, while I have no problem with clubs merging to form one "superclub" I do however find it rather odd that anyone that supports D+R makes remarks about other clubs "mergers", as by my reckoning D+R is an amalgamation of five clubs.

Ha ha, ha instigated by Collier Row!! By whom at Collier Row?? By the supporters, volunteers and players, or by Mr Walker who

stood to gain by jumping into bed with Goodwin??

And yes Sungate was a dump, but weren't Romford looking for a ground at the time?? So quite an important asset I would say!!

Merger is in an interesting word for it anyway. It was a takeover instigated by one man with the other Club, as everyone who has followed the non league game round here knows.

And your last point sums up your hypocrisy. Goodwin was no better of worse from what I can see than certain people who caused issues at Hornchurch, yet you seem to want to dredge all that up when you attack their recent past??

That really was one of the most unintelligible posts ever, might be an idea if you sobered up a bit, and then let everyone know what planet you really come from, so we can be a bit more understanding.

Dear oh dear, so someone posts something you don't like and can't answer and you come back with that. Very poor.

You have not put across an argument for any of the points made have you??

Maybe you could send a letter in to the local rag again or something??

Sorry, only just seen your last point. I also have nothing against mergers, as you say, would be wrong of me to follow a club like D and R if I did!! However, there is a difference between a merger and takeover is there not, which was my point.

There is a DVD on sale at our club shop showing highlights from the 1949 amateur cup final between Romford and Bromley. If you want some copies to sell in your club shop let me know, £5 each.

I'm sure we would be more than happy to sell any DVDs relating to your appearances at Wembley as well.

You sure they are on DVD and not super 8?

Whatever format, they'll be in black and white or maybe sepia?. Gis a clue as to which shade of fuzzy hues Romford were playing in.
