What like Harlow? Demands of a bigger league....my ar$e... don't spend what you haven't got... simples

One thing about you Rob is your entertainment value.. par excellence :97:

Harlow put all their faith towards their new ground saving the day but the crowds never came. Lesson to be learned there.

The lesson to be learned my friend is to do some research before engaging fingers with the keyboard.

Harlow's recent average attendances - they moved into Barrow's Farm in October 2006

2003-4 - 108

2004-5 - 98

2005-6 - 107

----------------

2006-7 - 225

2007-8 - 333

2008-9 - 320

2009-10 - 159

And we are the bitter ones?

The jealous are troublesome to others, but a torment to themselves.

what the hell has cup of teas post got to do with bitterness, the truth is that harlow expected crowds in excess of 500 plus when they got to the ryman, when they got promotion, there was even talk of their crowds hitting 750 plus on average, this as cup of tea has stated did not materilise.

The fact of the matter is even at their highest level crowds of 333 as an average for a new ground in a town like harlow are very very poor,it is the size of dartford not aveley

Well done on the figures, spot on.another's website is still a useful source of information despite his sad and untimely demise.

I never questioned that the attendances went up, just not in enough quantities to sustain the club and control the costs of the new ground.

(being promoted is always going to improve the attendances anyway) and that's the point I was trying to make. I don't believe that it was overspending on players that caused their problems.

I have no bitterness towards Romford and I sincerely hope it all works out for you guys, but I will defend Hornchurch on this forum.

:) I had to do last season's by hand as they have been overwritten rather than a new one. And talking of hand jobs.. hi Bird Brain..

Rob, you do talk some sh!t at times.. there is no way on this God's earth that Harlow expected 750.. you do get carried away in flights of fancy at times...

Envy is the art of counting the other fellow's blessings instead of your own :dance (2):

Sorry coup, you are wrong on this one, harlow fully expected crowds in excess of 500 in the ryman prem, the fact their crowds were so low is a small part of their problems, why build a new gorund with a nice big stand if you are expecting 2-300 each week, that in itself don't add up.some fans talked of bigger crowds but these were on the proviso they done well.

The excitement when Romford come home will be immense, because everyone connected with the club will make sure it is.

The manager and players will do their utmost to keep the momentum going, and our attendances should at least treble, to begin with, and I would expect a steady ongoing increase as the club progresses up the pyramid. I would also expect the Romford factor to have an adverse effect on AFCHs gates, with neutral spectators attracted by something new and exciting. Its dog eat dog out there and one clubs success will always have an adverse effect on local rivals.

I am sure your gates will increase but to what levels is unknown, you look to have a decent bloke in mr gardener at romford although it all depends on what level you are playing.

We all know the history of the defunct romford, sure people will come to watch you but as other clubs have found out you have to maintain a decent playing level, with good football and cracking hospitality to fans to make this happen and continue, building a new ground alone will not bring fans in,it will certainly not take fans from other clubs across a borough unless your level of playing is higher than other clubs in the area

This is not hype, but even I have been amazed at the goodwill that Havering people have shown towards RFC.

Good football, and cracking hospitality will be a forgone conclusion, and I have to say, all the sarcasm from the shabby part of Havering has been truly inspirational, so please, keep up the good work.

:biglaugh: He really wants to see us fail, his hatred is really quite entertaining, I can only presume he was one of the original '92ers who has watched our success on the pitch with horror. (This should cue comments about our financial state a saying from his mate Confucius )

Nah, can't be ar$ed anymore.. I'll check with Companies House when the accounts have been filed.. :cheesy (2):

"Watched your success on the pitch with horror" - I do think that if this a man thing and we are comparing what's been in our respective Trophy cabinets from '92 to date, then you will discover that we are a teensy weensy bit ahead on the accumulative silverware front.

Ah, the price of success - oh sh!t, I alluded to the 'M' word again.. :dance (2):

A few wins against Ilford Catholic in the Evergreen Easter charity cup does not constitute silverware. Now if there was a DVD going about showing some wins from games over fifty years ago that would something, :biglaugh:

There is a DVD on sale at our club shop showing highlights from the 1949 amateur cup final between Romford and Bromley. If you want some copies to sell in your club shop let me know, £5 each.

I'm sure we would be more than happy to sell any DVDs relating to your appearances at Wembley as well.

Thankfully my diet started yesterday, but I can categorically say, that none of our player's trophies are, or have ever been, on sale in the club shop...
