No 17, its our council they love changing the goalposts believe me!!!!

BGA,every council love to change the goalposts.

When you know you are dealing with a council that is opposed to your develeopment, you give them as little opportunity as possible

to move them.......bit like football, basics first.

Try doing that to our council 17, believe me they would still find something to block it as they have for the past few years!

See www.margate-fc.com for details.

Surely the architects should have known that?

Of course they should.

Surely your architects should be in pre-submission dialogue with the appropriate level of authority at the planning dept

That really is unbelievably incompetent all round.

Apart from that-the original planning application was granted in mid april 2005, and so 5 years are up in a month; so if i understand correctly, all of the previous submission will shortly be voided, and the whole process started again-at more expense.

Is this the second set of architects who from afar(and i'm sure i am wrong) seem to be working more for their fee than with the clubs best interests at heart.

On planning issues-you need local knowledge-or local connections.

Hang on a second, there's lots of assumptions here.

The architecs are not in the game of damaging their reputation by making bad decisions, and the club is not looking to spend more money than it has to.

In this case, the idea was to explore an amendment to the original planing consent which would have saved an additional fee. The council have simply said no, it will need to be a full aplication and so accordingly a fee will need to be paid.

On the issue of timing, the consent isn't about to run out as it's based on the 5-a-side centre which of course started the whole development programme.

We'll try to keep supporters up to date with what's going on with regard to the development, but having people making blind assumptions whenever there is an update does make me wonder why sometimes :wtf:

Perhaps with all the critisism we may go back to getting no news at all!!!

If I'm honest, that was the first thing that crossed my mind, despite my encouraging a more open comms position. However, I believe that any criticism is from a small minority of people and I would not want those few to lead to a situation where access to information is far more limited. Looking at our stats, I know that the majority of supporters who follow the website don't post on this forum, so for the time being at least I'm sure we'll continue to keep all supporters updated in the way that we have been doing.

However, if I ever need to get local planning consent for anything I know where to get free advice from (just hope you are all as expert as you profess).

With a qualification in CDM and a portfolio that includes construction of developments up to 300 units, built in traditional build, timber frame and RC frame, i would gladly give you advice Joseba.......but it wont be free! smilewinkgrin.gif

Ever thought of offering your services or at least your advice to the club G17. Could be a massive contribution on your part.
