Good results for us ....today ...for once in a long time...

Todays's game again failed at times to aspire to our potential, but a fair win and 3 points for the Rebels..

Dwight had a great game I thought ... having not played for a while... And Dean Harper as always, gave the grit that Steve asked for ...

We had control of the game in patches but Soham kept us on our toes again as we failed to punish them with missed chances...

all in all a better day for the Rebels...

Chris, when you wrote this you obviously had a few sherberts too many :champis2: DWAIN Clark started the game very well but then drifted in and out of the game. He was at his best when he stayed wide but was often called upon to help out in the middle of the park which is not his game.

Harps showed a bit of grit but his distribution and positional play was lacking but this was to be expected.

We ground out a result against a relatively poor Soham side and the quicker we get a decent mobile tackling mid-fielder the better.

Up front I would like to see Gary Sippets get a longer run than 5 or 10 minutes because he looks like he has a football brain and can score goals.

I concur, RR !

Thought Dwain Clarke had his best game for Slough and delivered some excellent crosses and whipped in low balls. Didn't think much of Soham, either and while we got the result we needed,at times we were poor.Thought both Harper and Edgeworth played OK but don't think we would be at the races against a better side than Soham. If we are going to play Dean Harper in that holding role,I would prefer to have two other central midfielders with him.

I thought Simon Martin and Elliot Buchanan did well up front but isn't it nice to have the calibre of Sean Sonner and Gary Sippets to come on.It's been a long time since a Slough side had these sort of options.

Well done to the Chairman,Board and Trust[and of course, manager] for making this happen this season.

We didnt play our best today but we didn't need to to win (and how many times could you have said that in previous seasons?)

Dwain clarke, i thought, played well considering he hasnt played much first team football since joining us.

Although Harper didn't have the greatest of games, he was very vocal and he was the one telling the team what to do and giving them encouragment which no one has really done recently. Does this mean he should be captain? probably not but it is good to see someone is taking charge of the team.

As most people i think that Sippets should be given the opportunity to start a match but the only question is which other striker do we drop to the bench, Sonner who is a real live wire or Buchanan our top goal scorer?

Unfortunately the teams around us don't look like they are going to drop many points especially as chesham beat hitchin.

Finnaly like to say well done to aylesbury who WON yesterday, only their second win of the season.

Given we've no left sided player other than Murphy maybe put Buchanan on the left and Sippets/Sonner in the middle?

I reckon we're really missing the width that Herron brings. I reckon Hayes and Kean could both do a job on the left but why don't we use Tyrone Sealey?

I think Heron is a player that we've yet to see the best of due to continuous injuries. Once he is 100% fit we will then see what a good player he is.

I think Sealey is a player that when he is firing he can be a match winner but is seen by SB as a bit of a loose cannon. When he plays, one of management team continually tries to coach him from the sidelines.
