Now I'm not the greatest fan of KP, but there has been a lot of critisim of the way things have been done over the last couple of seasons. Whatever has happened in the past you must agree that he has always wanted the best for MFC, and we can't change the past. So what has happened recently. We have had a lot of extra income from a great Commercial manager. Just yesterday another match sponsor who has also paid for an advertising board, this does not come cheap. There were then calls for Ian O Connell to come in "a Margate legend" who would fight for the margate badge, sorry but the jurys still out on him, some sytrange substitutions yesterday, why did Stubbs go off ? Has he stepped up too far to to Ryman Premier, I don't know. Then of course we were then all screaming for new players, so what have we got, new players. "Bring in Saunders" was the cry, "we need someone like Pinnock", was the cry so they arrived with three others. what has that bought us "Sod all". Once again an appalling performance against another poor team. What was the difference, they wanted those 3 points more than us. I hope I am wrong, but have these new players come here for the money after leaving a sinking ship. The jury is out but we need players who want to dig in and fight for the club and I don't see that at the moment. As for the manager, again time will tell but we will only find out next season in the Ryman South but there is no way out now.

As for fighting for the badge and the club, not one squad member appeared for the Horse Racing night last night organised by MISA, that tells it all.

If we had won the last four games -would you have posted the same thread RB ?

The issues concerning you have never changed in the last five years-but on pitch performances have consistently been on the slide.

Thus-by logic-if we win the next 55 games on the trot, those issues of concern will still be there-so will you still be posting the same ?

Could it just be that now (as oppoosed to the past) it is the on pitch matters that are of the gravest concern-which whilst they have hired and fired-the board cannot be solely responsible for ?

Is it not time to park once and for all any mistakes made off pitch about 5/7 years ago-and recognise what KP and the board have turned around-not least a £300k debt into a £2oK debt.

i appreciate it is hard to 'let go'-the mere mention of trott ,and him achieving 'defeat' from the verge of promtion two seasons running still gets my goat big time-but even i am trying to forget his calamatious mismanagement of funds available to him (and hopefully this season not deja vue with IOC )

Well said Abbey, for those of you that are so negative it ceases to amaze me.

Why dont we just lock the gates and not bother at all, that will keep u negative lot away but u will still be on here finding summit else to moan about, dont think about staying away from HDP do it.

I am not happy with the football by far but i for 1 will still be going along with no doubt other loyal supporters

Perhaps part of the backdrop to what has happened to the club is in nor small part to the over investment in chasing the dream. No one on relflection now thinks that knocking down the old staduim was a good idea. No one won anything from that decision - not even the stadium management company we were working with at the time that went bust just after that aprticular event.

On another issue, I don't recall hearing one supporter saying that we were spending too much money with the squad we had at Dover, with the players that Robin Trott signed to get us back into Conference South etc. etc.

Having said all that, whuile the playing side is clearly not the best at the moment, it is fair to say that there are more good things happening bedhind the scenes that will help the club become more self-sustaining into the future, and surely that had to be applauded. Remember, other clubs have actually folded. Ours hasn't.

Cookie, it's a voluntary job I have on the turnstiles, which I do out of the love for the club. In the four and a half years I've been doing it I can't remember a certain Keith Piper ever thanking me for helping out at his club...

Irrespective of that, I don't have a vendetta against him. I've supported him and his club since I can remember. His money has kept the club going in recent years, and I appreciate that (whether we're in financial trouble because of him is irrelevant to me). I just think his recent decision making leaves much to be desired... If Butler had been given the money that has suddenly been given to IOC to hire Pinnock, Saunders etc as well as the money that's going to be spent on Kinnear being director of football (which is a waste of money because directing the football is the manager's job) then Butler would have been able to bring in Harrison and Ricardo Joseph, who I had heard were both signed a few days before Butler left but chose not to come here after he left, and we would have been in a better position and playing better quality football.

Piper is a grade A numpty for the way he treated Butler. Whatever the bollox he says to appease people,, he didn't want him here, why else give IOC the backing that Butler didn't get.

Bloody glad I couldn't make yesterday. Never seen this forum so depressed, it must have been truly awful. Thought the Tonbridge game was as bad as it could get, but seems I was wrong. Bit concerned that we're getting in lots of 'experienced heads' and letting some of the younger lads move on, especially when the new signings have hardly lit up the last two games. Don't seem to recall us getting thumped like this under Butler.

After such a poor performance against Ashford I atually thought we would come out all guns blazing, but todays game pretty much sums this "team" up - NOT GOOD enough to beat bottom sides such as WA so why would we even dream of beating the better teams - lost all hope now - Ryman South here we come - and we aint good enough for that league either.....

new people like you are the sorts of people that need to stray away from the gate! noone needs you around so rather than post negative thoughts go and support someone else!

cheers jammy!

NEW - My opinion/frustration/concern and down right anger was vented last nite on here for all to see, my passion for MFC has not dwindled and nor shall it, but to call me new is laughable and incredibly wrong "jammy". Opinions differ but freedom of speech is my right and u aint changing that.

Excuse me but if this run over the last 6 years happened in most clubs there would be riots and why do we have to put up with it Cookie

Well said Realistic Blue and this what i've been thinking of late. It worries me that some fans are looking at it from the fact that Piper is the reason to why the club are still going, but come on people why are we in this situation? Unpaid taxes is the main reason and who should be paying our taxes? Piper. I know some here would say that maybe he couldn't afford to at the time, which if that is the case why did he pump so much money in the club that wasn't there? Also there maybe 1 or 2 people who share the same sentiments, but want to remain positive which i've respected up until now, because look where being positive as supporters has got us. This is easily the lowest point i've witnessed as a Margate fan and it is really depressing to see us in this position.

I've left it this long to post on yesterdays game, because i needed to calm down and i didn't want to write such a bitter post, but in retrospect there is no way we should be putting up with performances that we've been witnessing lately at HDP and be content about it both on and off the field, but i'm going to try to stick to on the field because that is why we are going down. There is clearly no confidence in the side and before people say that what i'm saying isn't going to help that isn't my problem, if they can't take criticism then give up, you clearly don't have the right mentality to be in the public eye. Also as a paying supporter I have my right to vent my opinions, sick and tired on holding back on here. Also lets face it, confidence couldn't get any lower at the moment. No one knows what they are doing on the pitch and it's all very embarrasing to watch tbh. My first game i watched since coming back down here was at home to Wealdstone and i left trying to figure out why we are in the relegation zone, but i was optimistic that with that performance we could stay up that has slowly disapeared over time and now i'm sat here not thinking, knowing that survival is a lost cause and it really pains me to say that. After our defeat to Tonbridge last week, which was embarrasing enough i thought that things couldn't get worse and it did. What are we expecting from next season, seriously? Because on recent performances we'll go down again, Ryman 1 is full of teams like Waltham Abbey.

It's interesting that Cliff Egan wants to get families through the door with their kids, so they could be the next generation of support. Fair enough, good on him, but even that is a lost cause at the moment. On a serious not who is going to pay a minimum of £10 to go through the turnstiles with your kid to watch a team that you are thinking about supporting get turned over at home by a fellow crap team? I'll tell you who, no one. So even regaining supporters is a lost cause.

Can't blame O'Connell for this predicament, his job was a big one to take on when he arrived here and i think we should all reserve judgement on him until the next season.

I understand that freedom of speech is within your rights but no1 wants to listen to you moaning day in and day out. I agree the club needs and can do better, however I for one am not going to start posting negative points as this will get us nowhere.
